Hi i'm 22 male from the uk i'm landing in christchurch on the 29th of Jan 06, i'm there for a week til i meet up with a mate (who is backpacking the world and i'm with him for the NZ part) i fly out from Auckland on the 6th of march. If anyone has any ideas a good starting place after christchurch then i'd love to know, join me if u wish... more the merrier

i think you have a perfect amount of time to see most of New Zealand.its good to start in one island amd finish in the other.spend about 4 weeks in the south and the rest in the north.you will easily be able to do it.
