Hi, Sweet
That's good news, thanks!
I'm a little confused, though: the NZ Embassy has your visa ready, but your EOI isn't? Shouldn't the EOI come first before the visa?

Hi Cora,
My husband applied for a working visa and as a spouse, I am entitled to an open work visa. We received our visas already - also work visa for me and student visas to my 2 kids. Submitting EOI means you are applying for residency. We applied first for a work visa (as advised by Newjobz) bec. the processing is faster than applying for residency, which would take one year or more. Another thing, if you have a job offer and has reached 140 pts. - it's automatic- you will be invited for residency unlike if you only have 100 to 105 pts. and have no job offer - there is a possibility that your application for residency might be declined.
We will be leaving March 5. Good luck to your endeavor!

Thanks, Sweet!
One last question: <g> - and pardon me if it's a dummy one.
If you apply for EOI (as I did), that takes a year because you're applying for residency, right?
How do you apply for a work visa? Do you also file for an EOI? And would you need a job offer first?
Am happy for you!
THANKS!

Cora,
We have a friend who filed the EOI (including the full processing up to their interview ) and their papers were approved after 14 mos.
For the work visa, the newjobz was able to file an employer to my husband so we filed our application for work visa with supporting documents such as employment contract, letter of support from employer, job description, etc. You don't need to file an EOI bec. you are applying for a work visa. My husband was given 3 yrs. (multiple) work visa and 2 yrs. (multiple) work visa for me.

Hi Lanie,
You should have a job offer in NZ in order for you to apply for a work visa. In my case since I am a spouse, I am entitled for a work visa without an employer since my visa is dependent to my husband. We were both given work visas. We submitted the ff. docs:
1. Employment Contract
2. Letter of support from employer
3. Advertisement of employer that they have advertised the position in NZ, no locals are applying or qualified, and the job vacancy is urgent.
4. Most important - the position you are applying should be in the Immediate Skill Shortage List or Long Term Shortage List, (you can research on the internet ) or a specialized skill. If not in the list, your employeer would still seek the approval to NZ govt. and the approval would take 6 mos. to more than a year. It is really best for you to seek the help of an agency like newjobz because they will assess your skills and find a job for you depending on your qualifications. If you are married, they will also assess who is more qualified, husband or wife. They also have an immigration lawyer who can answer all your queries regarding your application.
God bless!

Hi, Sweet
Re the 6 months that your employer will need to get an approval from the NZ government if your work is not in the Shortage List: are employers really willing to wait that long?
My job is not on the Skill Shortage List, and even if I get Newjobz, will I still have a chance?
A year ago when I was stil lin touch with them, Mahesh who took one look at my resume (not yet POS) said it was "impressive". In contrast, a friend's resume didn't pass her standards (she told me that sh didn't want to give my friend false hopes). Would you know what that means? Does that mean that NJZ thinks I have a chance? |

Cora,
Employers have no choice if they cannot get any locals for a job position. In our case, the employment contract of my husband is November - he should start by that time but the employer is considerate enough to wait for the issuance of my husband's visa.
Your job is not in the shortage list or long term list, then it is best for you consult about this with newjobz. Be frank with them - there is no harm in trying. Prayers can move mountains.

Cora,
By the way, what is your profession? Even if you are not in the shortage or long term list and newjobz can find you an employer - be patient even if it takes 6 mos. for the approval. You will reap your rewards after. The Lord knows what is the best time for us.
Regarding your friend as you have said - her resume is not impressive, your friend can either take up her master's degree to make up for her qualifications. In this way, her resume will be more presentable to the employer. She can inform newjobz that she is pursuing further studies so they can revise her curriculum vitae.

Hi Everyone,
Might be another victim of NewJobz. I hate to say it but we feel we've been had.
I paid my Associate Fee of $300 US and all ive got is a lousy CV and no further contact from this Agency. I am in the process of paying my Full Membership until i stumbled on this forum. Thank God i did otherwise i dont know what i would have done if paid the $2500 US.
Anyways, i would appreciate if anyone can console us for the time being.
disappointed member,

Tonio,
The $300 should get you a CD - and you should follow it up with them if you don't get it. Afterwards, they'll ask you for your CV and assess if you should pay the Membership fee or not.

Hi.
Is newjobz for real? I read on some forums that they are a fraud? Now i am totally confused! I am really interested in moving to NZ.
Can newjobz really help me in acquiring a job? At this point, I am also looking into Certitude New Zealand. Anyone heard about them?
I just want to make sure that whatever i'll be paying would be worth it.
By the way, is resettlement included in the package? Will they help you look for a flat or house?
To those who paid NewJobZ, how long did it take for them to actually get you a job? Is it easy to look for an IT job? How long did you have to wait for your visa?
Thanks so much. Any information regarding NewjobZ or other immigration consultants would really be a huge help! |

Hi Cheli,
There are a lot of members in this forum who already requested refunds from NewjobZ and it seems they got dissapointed with their services. So I don't think its a good idea to go with them.
Even though they might not be a fraudulent company(do your research), the fact that a lot of Newjobz members backing out tells me something's not right.
Also, according to research in looking for jobs (this applies anywhere), you'll need an average of about 500-800 resumes (believe it or not) sent out for you to get a handful of responses from employers. I don't think relying on a company to do the task of looking for a job for you will work best. (You'll need to be the one sending out those 800 resumes!) 2nd, there's higher probability you'll get hired if someone who knows you refers you to the prospective employer. If someone doesn't refer you and are unknown to the company, chances are you'll wait a very long time. 3rd, NZ employers rarely entertain people without work visas.
Newjobz system might work for people who are already in NZ who have visas but if you don't have a visa and are offshore, I'm rather very skeptical. Chances are you'll just waste your hard-earned money and have headaches for months.

Hi everybody,
We would like to seek you advice to our case...
Could anybody help us...
Thanks for your informative post. Just want to share our case with you. I am new here and at the same time I only started my application this week. I am in the first stage with my BF. Actually, I have convinced my BF to leave the military service so that we can pursue our plan to migrate. I will be the principal applicant and my school (UP Diliman) is in the list of recognized qualification. Since my BF is not in the list, we have to assess his qualification through PAR before we submit our EOI. He will submit his PAR application this week so that we can proceed to the submission of EOI. Hopefully, we will be selected in the pool.
By the way, I am a pre-school teacher with more than two years of working experience and currently taking masters in SPED while my BF is still in the military service with five years of experience. On the other hand, we have pass the minimum requirements of 100 pts. We would like to seek your advise regarding our application.
Thank you and more power... Smile |
