Been backpacking with your family in New Zealand lately? Care to share some tips with me? I am planning to backpack the North and South island with my brother's family and friends either in November or December 2006. It will be our first visit to New Zealand. Our group will comprise of about 10 adults and five children.

I would appreciate any advice/tips especially regarding routes and accomodations.
