Hi fish,

Any ideas how long will it take for an applicant know the results of the interview?

Best regards

Hi popsy,

It varies. As you can read from Jesse's thread below, he was interviewed last May 30, 2005 and as of today, he still hasn't received his visa.

Hi everyone,

Just would like to share our interview experience in Bangkok.
Ang date ng interview namin was January 9 at 2:45pm, vo is Ms. Trina Kuo. My husband and I arrived at the 36th flr at about 1pm, so we waited for almost 2 hours there. Okay lang, it's better to be early than ma-late. Baka your vo will give you minus points pa. Ms. Kuo approached us at exactly 2:45pm. The interview was focused on three major areas.

1. First was about my husband's current work. She asked the following: my husband's duties and responsibilities, description about the company he's working with, relationship with his colleagues and superiors, accomplishments/career development and other things pertaining to his skills and qualifications. The only question na tinanong sa kanya na similar sa OT (a Mapuan term for Old Testament or old notes) natin was, 'How do you intend to apply your skills in NZ?' The interview with him lasted for 20 minutes. Ms. Kuo ended their conversation by asking if there's anything else that he may want to add....and that's it.

2. Then, it's my turn. Most of the questions that were asked revolved on my preparedness in going to NZ. The first question that she asked was, 'You're a Chemical Engineer right? How will you cope up with the modern technology since you have been unemployed for more than 4 years now?' Thanks to fish/grace. The other questions were about: organizations that I should join and register, cost of living in NZ, biggest barrier in living and working in NZ, ways to overcome those barriers, alternative careers, preferred area in NZ and why, reasons for choosing NZ over other countries, contact persons, biggest help that will help us succeed in NZ. Almost all the questions that were posted in this thread ay tinanong sakin except for community services, schooling of my child (siguro kasi 3 y.o. lang yung anak ko kaya hindi nya tinanong). Yung interview sakin lasted for 30 minutes. Just like with my husband, she ended up by asking things that I want to add that might help our application for visa.

3. The third part was about our contact persons na anyone of us can answer. However, hindi na nya kami tinanong kasi I was able to mention them already na raw during the 2nd part of the interview.

We were also able to show her some of the printed replies from employers in NZ. However, she refused to keep it and just asked us to post it to her as soon as she gets back in Beijing. She gave us a chance to ask her some few questions also like:

How soon can we hear from her about the result of the interview and the verification?- She said about 1 month or two months, the most. (Sana nga!!!)

Since we are already in the 2nd tier assessment, I also asked her if it is safe to say that we already passed the first tier assessment which is the verification process? Sabi nya, another person daw ang naka-assign to verify our documents but if we're going to ask her about the interview, the interview was okay daw. I don' know kung ano ibig nya sabihin by that. Basta ang alam ko, her report will be reviewed by another vo before making a decision.

To those whose vo is Trina Kuo, she's nice naman. Wag kayo kabahan. Though she is a Chinese, her accent can be easily understood. During the interview, medyo strict siya kasi nagcoconcentrate siya sa ine-encode nya sa laptop nya and before typing in your answers, she will repeat it for you because sometimes there are terms that she hardly understands so wag masyado malalim magEnglish ha.

To those who will be interviewed palang, Goodluck!!! Kaya nyo yan. Thanks to those who posted their interview experiences here na kinapulutan ko ng mga tips that guided and helped us in the interview. My sincerest thanks to fish/grace who gave her unconditional support sa akin. Thanks!! Truly, I found a friend in you. God bless you!!! God bless us all.

Cheers,
Donna

hi gabu02/donna,

naks naman, special mention pa ako sa iyong paglalahad.. it was a pleasure to share with you.

aren't we glad that the interview phase is over! And so, another chapter of waiting begins..

God bless!

Hi Popsy,

With regards to the result of your interview, kung malakas ang loob mo, you can actually ask your VO after the session and based on your VO's answer you will be able to ascertain how you fared..

Ang matagal ay ang paghihintay sa susunod na proceso, ang paghihintay ng "Invitation to Apply for Work to Residence Visa: and lastly, the "Issuance of Visa" itself. Yung mga na-interview as far back as August, ngayon lang nakakatanggap ng Invitation. At yung na-mention nga ni Ginny, May 30 interview, at may mga nag-submit ng WTR requirements July 2005, naghihintay pa rin na ma-issue ang kanilang visa.

Nakakagigil talaga ang sitwasyon, at least may precedent tayo and we know more or less how long to expect.

We can only hope and pray that things move fast ngayon since nabawasan na ang work load nila because of less EOI to process.. (assuming!).

God bless,

Grace

Hi Grace,

We were actually interviewed a few days ahead of you. Lets just hope for the best.

God Bless
