Hello,


I'm planning on travelling around NZ for around 7-9 months. I'm flying into Aukland in a few weeks. I'm really not looking to party my ass off, I'd just like to find a beach town with decent waves, nice people and to wash dishes or something.. Any suggestions on what towns would be best to look into first?

Hi Jesse, Tauranga/Mt Maunganui would be a good start ( http://www.gotauranga.co.nz/infoframeset.htm - photos) of course don't forget to checkout Piha while you are in Auckland ( http://www.piha.co.nz/frame.htm ). Raglan might be worth a look ( http://www.raglan.net.nz/ location - http://www.raglanaccommodation.co.nz/location.htm ). I also really liked the small town of Whangamata ( http://www.whangamata.co.nz/ - photos), but I am not sure if there would be many jobs in Whangamata.
