I'm only going to be New Zealand for a short time, so I have to pick my hikes carefully. Has anyone done the Wangapeka? Is it worth doing if I only have a limited time? It seems like most of the track is through forest, with limited views and scenery. Any advice?

Hi amfox, I have done only part of it years ago and what I done there were not to many views. The valley itself and the river is very nice, it is (was) less busy that many of the other tracks. Tramper ( http://www.tramper.co.nz/index.cfm/action/story/StoryID/44/TrackID/44/Keywords// ) has a good discription of it.
