Hi everyone! Finally, after 9 months of waiting our ITA has arrived. Thanks God. According to our consultant, Visa application would be much easier if we already have a job offer. Is getting a job offer really possible for aspiring migrants like us? My husband is the principal applicant and he is an Electrical Engineer. Is there anybody who could help us find the websites of the companies accomodating aspiring migrants? We need your help please...thanks a lot. God bless all of us |

Hi Tess,
Who is your agent? From what company are you?
Yes, job offer will really help you get a PR VISA. I know someone who got a PR VISA because he has a job offer. |

hi Tamulmol,
I think I know you because I had visited the website www.pinoyimmigrant.com and I had the chance to view your photo. We have the same agent. I am a friend of Mylene B. If you already have a copy of IELTS E-book kindly send me one because my husband is going to take the IELTS. You can send it to tessdimayacyac@yahoo.com or quieldimayacyac@yahoo.co.in. Thanks and best of luck to all of us. |

| Anyone know how a WTR visa differs from a work visa? Our EOI just got selected, then my husband got a job offer...but he is worried that he might lose the job offer if the visa processing (WTR or PR) takes too long. So he is seriously contemplating applying for a work visa while waiting for the ITA pack. Has anyone had a similar experience? Pls advice. Thanks |

hi moonshine, great for you!
i inquired about the processing of work visa here in NZ embassy manila. it takes them 45 days, but if all documents are complete(both employee's and employer's side), it may be processed faster.
however, since you have your EOI lodged already, coordinate with NZIS immediately, fax your job offer directly to the branch handling your EOI and make a personal request to expedite your case. When you have a job offer, they'll give PR agad. A fellow forum member has a friend who was given PR in a month after sending his job offer, i just don't know at what stage he was in already.
This is quoted from Bangkok's homepage: http://www.immigration.govt.nz/branch/BangkokBranchHome/processingtimes/
"....However, should you receive a job offer at any stage after your EOI has been selected, please fax it to us on +66 2 654 3445. Alternatively, you can contact us at nzisbangkok@dol.govt.nz. Please always state your EOI number. We will immediately allocate your EOI to a visa officer."
NZ Embassy Manila has Technical Advisers who might be able to give suggestions on what to do best, but it is soooo hard to get thru their line, Visa officers are available only from 1:30 - 3:30 everyday. but you can try. here is the contact for NZ Embassy Manila:(632)891-5358 to 67.
God bless! do keep us posted with any development.
Cheers,

with regards to WTR Visa, try clicking this link:
http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/work/worktoresidence/howdoiapply/default.htm
Here's my understanding, if you apply for work visa indepently, you may later on apply for a residence visa after 2 years when you meet all the NZIS requirements.
However, if you applied for Permanent Residence and was granted a WTR visa instead, you need not wait for 2 years to apply for residence, 3 mos of stable employment (among other reqts) is all that's necessary. all those included in the application will also be given their respective visas as applicable.
Downside of only applying for work visa, partners and dependents will not be included, they have to apply on their own, either visitor's visa or work visa for partner.
God bless!

Hi, Moonshine,
From what i understand, as soon as you have a job offer, you can immediately inform NZIS as they are prioritizing PR applicants with job offers. In that case, what should be issued to you is PR and no longer WTR, I may be wrong on this, but that's how i understand it. Kaya nga they're saying na pag may job offer tayo, iinform natin ang NZIS right away, or i don't know kung sino talaga, that is, at any stage of application, lalo na kung selected na. Kaya, hala, sige, bilisan mo at ng di ka na pumunta pa ng Bangkok at makaskip ka ng ilang loops sa proceso. Gud lak, and I hope u get it. Go,go, go!!!! |

Hi Hane,
I have also job offer in NZ..They give me a copy of it thru fax galing NZ from my employer.. para ma apply ko daw ng Work permit dito, the other documents package na daw nila if needed.. ask ko lang yung bang pina fax sa akin na job offer pwede ko na ba gamitin to apply work permit?..
I need some idea from any others that have knowledge about this also.

Hi, JBA,
This is what I have gotten from the Bangkok branch page: Once EOI is allocated to our branch, a visa officer will make an initial assessment of your job offer. If it meets the Skilled Migrant Policy requirements; that is, job offers need to be skilled and genuine, your EOI will then be assessed further. All job offers are subject to verification. If not it will be treated as an EOI without a job offer. At the end of this process your visa officer will contact you, either inviting you to apply for residence or requesting further information. Please note that this process will take up to 30 working days.
You will have up to four months from the date we invite you to apply for residence; however, it is desirable to apply well before the four-month period has elapsed.
Once we have accepted your residence application, it should take up to three months to make a final decision. Processing times may vary from case to case as it often depends on the quality and completeness of documentation you provide with your application. So this means, they will have to evaluate the validity of the job offer you have. If ur EOI has already been selected, it is best that you inform the EOI team or ur visa officer depending on what stage u r in, about it right away, perhaps you can fax it to them. Sige ka, baka mainip yang trabaho na yan, jok lang, ha. U r lucky to have that!
A work permit allows you to work in NZ legally pero di yun for permanent residence, u will still have to apply for permanent residence f u want to stay there permanently. Perhaps those in the forum who have been in the same situations can give u first hand info about this.
Bout the IELTS, it is best that u take it because it is a requirement, unless u have other proofs that u r a competent user of English language. U can check on the NZIS web page on this. Having IELTS is D SUREST way to prove it. Yun namang interview, di ako sure but my understanding is NZIS decides and will inform you through the visa officer assigned to you. Siyempre lahat ng docs mo titingnan nila b4 they can decide what visa to grant and whether an interview is still needed. Lahat ng interviews sa Bangkok, although may mga tsismis na in the future eh baka magput up ng interview facilities d2 sa Manila, tsismis lang yun ha. Another tsismis I got yesterday from a friend who's doing masters in NZ (is here for thesis writing) is that interviews are conducted in Bangkok bkoz of the complaints about the Manila embassy staff sa mga interviews in the past, again tsismis lang yan at di sa akin nanggaling ha. O wag nyo basahin to ha, he-he-he. Anyway, wala na tayo magawa kung anong set-up ang gusto nila. Going back to your job offer: CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Keep us posted how things are and the process that you go through. Good luck and keep praying, you will get there sooner than me and d rest who have no job offers, ha!3 |

Hi, JBA,
I also have the same dilemma bout that bangkok interview w/ no assurance of getting d visa, 2 rin kami na kailangan interviewhin, tsk-tsk-tsk. Anyway, that's better than nothing, although i am exploring other options somewhere.
Regarding your question of authentication of your requirements, things are not clear to me: 1) what type of docs need to be authenticated, 2) whether u will have those docs authenticated here or u have to have ur Philippine qualifications assessed in NZ and get a registration from relevant authorities. F ur docs have to be authenticated here, you need to go to issuing body/office, sa kanila mo dapat ipaauthenticate yun. Kung kailangan mo ng NZ registration for your qualifications, visit ka sa NZQA at www.nzqa.govt.nz. |
