Hi! My desire to work and live in new zealand is anchored on belief that I could contribute something concrete in the attainment of the new zealand's plans and objectives. Presently I am holding the position as Chief Accountant in one of the state universities and colleges here in Central Visayas region. Furthermore, having passed the licensure examinations in 1990, I am an active member of Philippine Institute of Certified Accountants, otherwise called PICPA. Apart from being a certified public accountant (CPA), I can be tapped to other white and blue collar jobs.

Thanks for viewing and posting a short note/reply. I really appreciate you for your time and effort exerted. God bless and more power to you.
Another thing, may I know if you're a PICPA member? |

Hi Vic,
If you're really interested to work and live in New Zealand, pls try to visit the website www.immigration.govt.nz. Be aware that PICPA's are not accredited as accounting practitioners in New Zealand, hence, if we can be employed even as an accounting clerk or a bookkeeper which I believe we can not, we have to take some accounting units at a NZ institution because we significantly differ in accounting principles.
Probably, we or Phil CPA's can be employed as bookkeepers or accounting assistants but this depends a lot on our education and experience since one of the dimension in assessing our qualifications is from where we graduate our course. You can check this out in detail at the above website.
I believe you are from CVSCAFT, Tagbilaran. Good luck to your search.

To blackboy,
Thank you for your views and comments on my chances to live and work in nz. In a nutshell, please do provide a clue for me to be able to identify you. For all we know, accountants especially CPAs dont lie!
More power! |

Hi vic and blackboy,
There are accounting-related jobs in NZ which do not require registration. However, if you want to become a Chartered Accountant or an Accounting Technician, you have to be registered with ICANZ. You can try and visit their site at www.icanz.co.nz for the details. To be a full member, you have to take some courses, taxation and company law at the minimum, and sit in the professional competency exams. Your work experiences will also need to be credited towards the general and practical experience requirements. But don't worry, you can do this while being employed there, especially with an ATO (accredited training org).
I am also a CPA and awaiting the decision on my WTR application. If we get the visa this month or next, my family will be flying to NZ by Sept.
Good luck in your applications.

Hi MU,
Please inform us thru this forum if you received your WTR visa and how long is its validity. I also lodged my WTR application this month of July.
One more question- do they really have to verify our bank accounts?
Thank you and keep us posted.
