For those who are planning to take the IELTS exam,
better to start first with the EOI then Review the IELTS and Wait for the the Advice of your VO.Just Pray that your VO considers your English Proficiency,
So that you won't have to waste a huge amount of Money. |

| If you're a Filipino, there is no need for you to take IELTS. Just get from your school a certificate that your school's (tertiary) medium of instruction is in English. This is what I did; my family and I had our visas now. |

thanks for the posts, I submitted my EOI, and was doing the rounds checking IELTS review classes, they are really charging enormous from 8 thousand up. so might just self review at home, than waste my money enrolling.
thanks again |

| My wife and I have a 2-year open work visa and my child was given a student visa. We received these July 5, 2005. |

Lucie,
Yes, I applied under SMC. I submitted my WTR last week of June; perhaps, what's holding the decision of your WTR application is your funds. Good luck! |

thanks pra. Just waiting now and need more patience, konti na lang... Buti yun sa inyo ang bilis, more than a week lang from submission.
Ask ko lang, what are the conditions stipulated in the visa? Is the visa stamped "work visa", since I learned that there will be requirement in POEA if that's the case. |

It's a work visa and one of the conditions is the holder can seek any type of employment and anywhere in NZ. Yes, it is only in the Philippines that we need to pass through POEA for work visa holders -- I guess our government has good intention regarding this.
Our visa officer will advise as regarding this slight problem; the NZ government is discussing this issue with their Philippine counterpart--let's hope and pray that this will be resolved soon since there are other work visa holders like me and my wife who are confronted by this issue. Another strategy of NZIS is to issue visitor visa to WTR applicants and the work visa will be issued upon their arrival in NZ. |

who's your VO? Actually your the 1st one I knew who was issued the visa. Most of us are still waiting particularly those yahoo groups members, that's why we don't have a clear idea since there are some that it's work visa being given and yes, there are also some who says that it's visitors visa.
So, are you going to go through POEA? what will be the requirement then?
You're right, we need more prayers and hope that it will be resolved the soonest. When do you intend to leave? |

Hi pra,
Inquire ko lang kung may visa stamp na ang passport mo, I submitted my WTR visa application together with the migrant levy, passport and bank certificate last June 22 but until now hindi pa rin bumabalik ang passport ko. konting clarification naman kasi marami kaming naghihintay ng balik ng passport na may visa stamp.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I read previously that you only need certification from your university that English is used as the medium of instruction.
I got a certification from UP last year for my application to Canada.
It reads:"This is to certify that English is generally used as the medium of instruction at the Univ. of te Phils." and signed by the registrar.
Do you think this will be enough proof?

Kirk,
I got one from UP and I used it for my ITA (see my preceding posts) without the IELTS. |
