hi jolyred
we basically have the same dilemma. I have hesitations of submitting my eoi because i wanted to gauge if we stand a better chance of getting registered at the teachers council first. nz$315 is still Nz$315 just to lodge our eoi form. ang hirap pa rin kitain ng ganung halaga dto sa pinas. In my case, i dont think i need an NZQA eval since my school is one of the recognized/accredited schools in nz. But how do i inform the teachers council about this?(It's a prereq) Do i need to send NZQA all my documentations so they could issue a certification to the teachers council? Would any one from this forum know how easy (or how difficult) it may be to get a teaching position in nz?
i sincerely hope that somebody could enlighten us on this. salamat na lang po

basics,
hi! sorry i have just read your message now. i decided to undergo registration. i sent documents almost the same as what NZIS is asking. but the differences are the following:
at least 2-3 recommendation letters from your boss, senior teachers.contents should prove that you met their criteria, that you continue professional development, etc.
i sent certified copies of my my board certificate (LET) and certificate good standing. i even submitted my head's evaluation and students' evaluation.
hope this will help.

Joly Red,
It is best to submit your eoi "on-line" instead. It is faster and cheaper compared to other means. Then pay your fee thru credit card.

Hi Jolly,
I would like to share with you the experience of my friend with regards to the registration issue. She went ahead with the EOI filing without the registration from the Teachers'Council and was selected from the pool. However, she was declined an ITA after verfication period because according to the pool management team, she cannot earn points for her educational qualification without the requisite licence or permit from the Teachers' Council. In other words, it is safer to file the EOI after getting the registration from the Teachers' Council because you never know how long will the registration takes place. In the case of my friend, she did not get the registration in time for the EOI selection and verification, hence she is now back to square one. |

lindbergh,
hi! i chose to submit my eoi through the courier because i'm done with the eoi manual form.
lyzander,
thank you so much for the information! i was enlightened. i applied for registration although there's no result yet.however, i took the risk of lodging the eoi.
mesanne,
about the teachers council, the same requirements are are needed (TOR,Police clearance, IELTS,) but you're asked to provide 3 recommendations letter from your superior and senior teachers. you may find helpful info in their website: www.teacherscouncil.govt.nz |

correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the fee for sending your EOI manually or thru paper different as opposed to sending it online? |

miko,
the fees for applying EOI manually as opposed to on-line are different. On-line EOI application is cheaper and easier to track since you'll be given your own webpage which you can access anytime.

hi jolyred,
thanks.
what's up? btw, i have read in the application form that what you need is a straight 7 in the ielts? how about you? as i said earlier, i got only 6.5.
there are 3 categories, i am trying to go over them, for sure i dont qualify for full registration.. but i'm weighing things over if i am going to take the ielts again or go to nz and take the said exam there..
do you have a contact # that we can compare notes?
mine is 09189406656.. looking forward..
have a nice day..
lindberg,
thanks for the advises... please anticipate for more next time..
Godbless!
