Hi everyone, i'm Melo Garcia and new on this site.so glad to find this site in the net. Marami akong nalalaman re experiences of aspirants to be NZ residents. I'm also one of you and me and my family are waiting for further developments regarding our application. As a principal applicant having earned 115 points (no points for my wife) I got the encouragement to submit my EOI via online, that means diretso ito sa Wellington office. Fortunately we got selected last October 27 a few days after submission. We are still waiting for our invitation to apply because the only letter we got from the EOI team is that we were selected. Since then wala na. Its almost 7 months of waiting na. I can view my application via online and hindi pa rin nagbabago ang status na selected. Me chance pa ba kami and can somebody please enligthen us re the present situation of our EOI case. Wala kasi kaming matanong...and based on my reading a few months (4 at the most) me ITA na yung iba, but in our case ang tagal na. Wala akong makitang problema sa mga claims ko, wala nga lang akong job offer but me and my wife are both professionals and we only have one child (5 yrs old). Me similar case ba kayong naencounter na naipost dito. Please help. We desperately need some enlightenment bago kami bumitaw. For those who can shed light sa case namin, my email ad is melbelgel@yahoo.com. Feel free to communicate with us. Many thanks

Melo,

I just noticed, quite a few of you, well notably those who submitted their EOI's in October and November...havent received an ITA yet...so Im thinking, is there something unusual about these months?

Its raining WTR's now for those whose EOI's were selected in August and September, and ITA's have now been passed out to those whose EOI selection were in December and we have yet to see January people coming out of the woodwork.

Its funny that, for these months, of October and November...ITA's are scarce...

Hope someone can shed light to this. Is it a phenomenon?...or just simply a coincidence?

to Melo,

Don't give up yet!

I filed my EOI November 24, Selected Dec. 8, received ITA Dec. 23. filed my application April 01, interviewed last May 25.

I have strong reason to believe that there is nothing unusual about the November and December applications.

I would suggest that you send an e-mail to the signatory of the letter you received informimg that your application has been selected. All correspondence coming from NZIS have their respective e-mail address after their name.

just write them inquiring about the progress of your application quoting your application number, selection date. by the way, did you receive an acknowledgement letter informing that NZIS got your EOI payment.

Just don't give up, I've read a couple of persons who are in the same situation as yours, I think her name in the forum is Tess the other one I can't remember, there are some applications that NZIS process a bit quicker than others, maybe because their skills is in the immediate skills shortage list or maybe other appications have overseas work experience. I think it's a case to case basis, any way I have lived and work in South Australia for about 2 years.

good luck !

allan

ps: please pm me if you need some clarifications.

Allan,

May I know what industry you are in? Also were you given WTR or PR?

Thanks

Hi Allan,

Are you the husband of Mayette?

Its good to know that there is at least one (dont know anyone else) from the November batch that was given an ITA so I stand corrected. Do you know of anyone else? Please advise.

Also I noticed that you seem to be one of the rare EOI's that was given an ITA right away (less than 1 month?) because the standard seem to be 4-6 months.

Anyway, hope you can share with us any other October-November applicants to clarify this.

Thanks,
RITA

Hello Melo,

This is jvic, actually we have the same case but what I did is I faxed a letter in Bangkok, as I previously called their office in Auckland and I was informed that the Bangkok Office had mailed my ITA wayback November 1 but I did not receive it until I faxed a letter. Better inquire in Bangkok, they will send you immediately your letter of ITA but better inquire first because the period within which to apply for residence has lapsed already, it is only four months from the date of the ITA. You just inform them that you did not receive any letter. We've got the same predicament, but I did not keep on waiting, act now. My e-mail jvic_59@yahoo.com, just in case you like to contact me.

To Ginny:

I worked in a bank for 12 years here in the Phil. my sister, an australian citizen invited me to see Australia, I ended up not only visiting but likewise as a temporary resident for 2 years, then I worked in a manufacturing environment as a sheetmetal worker. my employer provided the on-the-job training. I don’t have a visa yet, as of the moment I’m still waiting for my VO’s decision.

To Rita:

No she's not my wife but, I reckon every man wants another one, kidding.

I dont personally know of any other october or november applications. i just cited my own case since mine was filed november like i mentioned in my previous posting. I used to exchange emails with Jesselyn of pinoyz2nz group. i think you know each other since you are also from the same group if im not mistaken. I read regularly the postings on some of the threads here in backpack new zealand so i know quite a bit of all of you who likewise regularly post here (major dude, deacon blues, ka uro, snooze, da duck, jap, jpe to mention a few). anyway, my case has been mentioned and compared to other applications in this forum. but do believe that every applications has its own merits and therefore has to be treated in a case to case basis.

Living in a foreign country is definitely not a bed of roses as i have experience that ALONE for two years in australia. Inspite of that, we all still aspire this dream to live in a developed country (courtesy either of pinoy’s colonial mentality or apathy towards our country’s turmoil or both) like that of nz.

Goodluck to all of us !

Hello. I have just signed up so I'm really a newbie here. Like most or all of you, I plan to emigrate to NZ. I have already submitted my EOI and selected last May and took the IELTS last April. I have received a letter from wellington advising me that it's now the Bangkok office which is processing my application. However I was shocked to find out that it will take 6 months for a vo to actually see and process my application. Hay, I was planning to be in NZ at least before the yearend. But I think now I am looking at, at least another year to finally realise it. I have another option, though, that is to have a job offer. But as we all know, it is difficult to obtain a job offer lalo na pag nandito pa tayo sa phils.

I have also read from some of the posts here that there is an interview in Bangkok? I didn't know that we will actually need to go to Bangkok. I was surprised to find that out. I don't use po kasi immigration consultants. I rely on the NZ immigration website and happily I found this forum. I'm glad to know that there are lots of Filipinos willing to help one another.

I have one question at this time: While waiting for the ITA - with fingers crossed and lots of prayers Smile
I plan to have the required documents ready. What are the documents po ba na dapat kong iprepare?

Salamat po at goodluck to all of us...
