| yesterday my visa officer called me and require me to submit an updated NZQA Assessment Report based on Skill Migrant Category. I have already nzqa full assessment dated December 2002. I contacted already the NZQA but up to now no response yet. I like to argue with my visa officer because why only now during my wtr application that they questioned that. Also, I don't think the Qualification Assessment Report has expiration, am i right? Regards. |

hi jvic,
try to remember kung anong qualifications ang sinubmit mo sa EOI mo at yung qualifications sa NZQA report mo noong 2002. may nadagdag ba na qualifications sayo after ng NZQA report mo. hindi kasama panibagong work experience unless it is an apprentice. kung walang nadagdag, i-argue mo sa VO mo pero hindi pa rin ito sigurado since posible din naman na meron silang mga ammendments since 2002 sa assessment ng qualifications. subukan mo lang baka sakaling ma-convince mo yung VO. pero medyo matagal ang qualifications assessment report, mga two months.
anyway , goodluck. nag-email nga pala ako sa iyo today.

Hello guys!
I've been following all your posts since lunch break today. I never thought i would be in this position - you know - considering other "greener pastures". But with the way things are, the government, corruption, crimes in the country, i finally realized why people are moving out and fast! Same with my reason, i guess, we're all just fed up. Goodluck and God bless us all. I think i better prepare all my documents already. Big thanks for all the insights!

guys here's latest update on our WTR:
this afternoon, BKK visa officer ( chamonrat, i think ?!?! ) called my wife. VO said that they were supposed to stamp our passport when he/she noticed that our ( me and wife) passports will expire 2007.VO will return the passports thru courier ( after we pay thru credit card or other means). my wife argued ( in a diplomatic manner, naman ) that there was no mention of this re: expiry date of passport in the manuals/even in the web or even in letters to us, she even added that this should have been mentioned to us at least during the interview. Wife also said that to her knowledge , phil. passport can be renewed only upon expiration ( not sure) but VO replied that he/she has two clients in the same predicament and they had their passports extended. Its either we have passorts renewed or get new passports na lang... anyway we will talk abt this tonight and plan the next step to do also ask around esp w/DFA..... |

follow up news on our WTR:
the visa officer who called my wife yesterday was Ms. Lalitporn .....VO said that our passports should not expire during the two year WTR period....our passports expire 2007....we were aghast because this was not mentioned in the letter sent us or even in the immigration manuals.... my wife even pointed out that we can renew our passports in the phil embassy at NZ..... but VO insisted and claims she has two applicants/clients in the same situation....
anyway, we cant do otherwise... weve just got to follow what BKK VO says....today were preparing bankdraft to BKK for the courier fee.... hopefully we receive passports next week fr. bKK so we can renew with dfa ... acc. to dfa renewal is allowed even if the our passports is to expire in 2007 pa...shortest period is 3 days... then send it back to BKK ... and hopefully & finally get the much sought after STAMP...
patience..... IT WILL ALL BE WORTH IT ! ! ! |

rainman,
We have the same VO Ms.Lalitporn Charaprapha. Last July 21, she emailed us telling it will take two months to process wtr visa stamp. She received our application last June 23.
I think I'm going to have the same predicament since my passport will expire July 2006.
I researched the NZIS Operations Manual and found under the section of Administration, sub-section A2.5 titled Criteria for Acceptable Travel Documents under section e - In the case of people coming to New Zealand temporarily, passport should be valid either 1. For at least 3 months beyond the date they intend to depart or 2. For 1 month beyond the date they intend to depart, if the issuing governemnt has consular representation in NZ that is able to issue and renew passport.
So it is clear that your passport should still be valid at least 3 months after you depart if we have no Phil. Embassy in NZ and 1 month if we have Phil. Embassy in NZ that can renew passport.
Why dont you try to email your VO and present this argument. Anyway this is their own Operations Manual last updated 04 of July 2005.
I will also email and inquire this matter to NZIS.
Please let us know of any further developments.

Hi Allan and Rainman,
Ang interpretation ko lang ng "to depart" na stated sa manual ay baka "depart from NZ" and not "depart from your country of origin". So kung ito ang interpretation, baka ang ibig sabihin, if you will be given a WTR this Aug that is valid until Aug 2007, your passport should not expire before Sept 2007 (since we have a consular office in NZ). Opinyon lang po.
