Hi, it's Kidra Tristal again. I'll talk briefly about the approval letter. This document includes a warning that we should leave NZ if we fail to secure a permanent residency status before our visa expires. Also, attached to it is a list of kit managers with whom WTR holders are supposed to maintain contact until they get their permanent residency. Also, enclosed in the envelope are two guide brochures for the first few weeks of the immigrants in the NZ.

As for the visa, it tells the holder that he/she need not purchase a round-trip plane ticket. The assumption perhaps is that there is no need to buy one as we intend to stay in the NZ for a longer period of time before we think again of coming back to our country of origin.

I can't stay for long this time. The computer shop is already closing. Bye for now. Have a good time this weekend.

For the waiters: JUST KEEP YOURSELVES ENTERTAINED FOR THE MEANTIME. I KNOW, I KNOW. IF MY MEMORY SERVES ME, MY V.O. EMAILED ME ON A SUNDAY. THERE IS NO VACATION AT BANGKOK NZIS I BELIEVE THIS DECEMBER. THEY SEEM TO BE WORKING THERE 7 DAYS A WEEK. AGAIN, I THINK OUR RESPECTIVE VOs ARE ON OUR SIDE BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE ABSOLUTE CONTROL OVER THE ISSUANCE OF THE WTR. FOR WHAT REASON, I'M SORRY, IT'S REALLY HARD TO FIGURE. SIGE MUNA HA.

Thanks Kidra for that detailed information about WTR Approval letter. Can you share the contents of the letter/notice previous to this, meaning, the letter that requires submission of proof of settlement funds to be sent to BKK? Thanks

Hi Ginny.

The letter simply asks us to submit the following:

1. passport/s
2. payment of US $400 plus around US$10 for the mailing service (bank draft or through credit card)
3. proof (bank book and/or bank certificate) that each family member has at least US$3,000. This serves as an evidence that you can survive decently for three months in NZ while looking for a job. I submitted my bank book and a bank certificate.

Bye for now.

Quick note. Congrats to those who've received their visas. And to the waiters - it means you're next!

Looks like a good number of Pinoys are arriving in the next 2 months. Corex, Marichu and I are thinking of organizing a simple get-together to welcome the new arrivals here in Auckland and help re-establish the network of Filipinos in Auckland. Perhaps last week of January or early February.

Would like to get a list of interested parties. If you are keen, kindly email me at jesguerra_99@yahoo.com. We'd love to meet you all.

A wonderful Christmas and a blessed New year to everyone!

Congrats Ryanabs! My VO is Lalitporn too. Did you make any follow-up with her when she was still processing your application?

hello again.

many of you out there are missing me...aren't you?hehehe.well guys,we have lots of fun here esp. last week end.jo (jpe) had just bought her new car in hamilton...and last Friday Chu(chuyde)and I have our first day in Hilton Hotel (5 star hotel..akala niyo kung ano kami diyan?sa housekeeping dept. kami...hehehe)At first it was such a very very very tiresome job...but today (on our fourth dayand we are on our own..we just have a 3 days training with pay)medyo nagustuhan na namin ang work...and it's a very good exercise...alam nyo ba na sa first day ko sa Hilton lang ako pinapawisan mula ng dumating ako dito NZ? Parang nagustuhan ko na work ko...kasi diyan pa ako sa Pinas talagang I go to gyms for my daily exericse..hindi ako nagpa sexy ha?..pero this is what i really want...Then dito pwede kang mag walking..ang laki ng mga parks nila..pero hindi ka pa rin papawisan kasi malamig ang hangin kahit ang init ng sun...
Okay let's go back to our driving lesson with jpe...Siya ang driver namin ni CHU from Firday-sunday...medyo part of her test drive and also to familiarise the roads esp.a new route if you have a car( i mean you will have to find a short way and not anymore the bus route...)Okay...Friday aftrnoon sinundo niya kami ni chuyde sa Hilton(w/c is just in the city)Pauwi na kami..maulan...si jpe nag drive..si chuyde naman nasa front seat assistant driver niya..hawak hawak mapa...They should make hatid me first to our house...suppose to be mga 30 mins. lang ang drive from city to our place (glen Eden) and you know what? it took us 2 hrs. and a half to get home...WE WERE LOST...tawa kami ng tawa sa daan...Humnito kami sa may isang eskinita at doon...pinag aralang mabuti ang mapa...Mabuti itong so Jo talagang compas...alam niya kung nasaan na kami...Siya kasi nagturo naming dalawa ni Chu magbasa ng mapa...So doon nalang sila natulog sa bahay ko...(ay sa host ko pala...kasi host ko,umuwi Pinas..for a month holiday.)natuwa naman ako kasi first night ko yong mag-isa sana..Sat.night simab sana kami..kaso lang huli na rin kami ng matagpuan namin ang church..you know mga bagon drivers dito sa NZ..At alam niyo bang marami na rin kaming natutunan ni chuyde kahit hindi kami nag da drive...it's not like there in Pinas na in the corner you will find the sigage of one way...dito nasa daan...i mean it's all painted in the street(sa kalsada mismo) if it's a two way...or a one way..may mga arrows pointing to you(then that's one way)at saka lagi kang nasa left lane...kasi right hand drive dito...Then just yesterday, nag attend kaming dalawa ni chu sa Staff Xmas party ng Hilton...Naku at first medyo naiilang kami...kasi we all sw the girls in party dress(medyo formal)pero okay lang kasi 5 kaming Pinoy sa Housekeeping Dept....then ang sarap ng mga pagkain...busog na busog talaga kami..kahit walang rice...sarpa magluto ng chef nila at ang daming pagpilian..Then mas maganda ang pary dito kasi inuna ang pag serve ng dinner( i mean kainan kaagad)...before the program...Sus sa program proper doon na may mga presentation sa iba't ibang dept...at first din medyo gusto na ni Chu umuwi.(parang eat and run gusto niya...nakakahiya naman.hehehe)but on the next presentation...naku doon na na buhay...Talagang backwards ang NZ when it comes to taste of music...Biro niyo ang kanta..ICE ICE BABY...do you stil remember this song?
O sige more stories to tell you later...(if not busy)okay?See yah...God Bless.
