hello, am back again...
it's because i read from a post in my good fren"s (marichu) own topic about the sending of money to Pinas...yes it's tru that there are some Pinoys here who is doing business as Money Changers (black market). They will exchange your NZ dollars and will be the one to send it to your account there in Pinas (any bank I think will do).But as for my experience, (and that's what my host here advised me to do so) I open a separate account (for my salary-ANZ)which is ASB because it has the highest exchange rates (of all the banks here in auckland)for peso. You can withdraw it in the HSBC ATMs there. But you have to be very careful, because you will send the ATM card to your wife/husband and you will give him/her your PIN.Just be very careful that the PIN will not be divulge to any other person because you will be responsible for all the transactions even if the card is not with you. So what I did, I open an ASB ATM account. Then send my ATM card to my husband and he can withdraw there with a minimal charge plus with a greater value of peso.
Unlike when you have a bank to bank transactions, the charge rates are higher..
Also, banks here are not like there in our place, every transactions...there's always a charge..like even when you deposit your money here or even when withdrawing your own money..there's a charge for it...they even discourage depositing money with their tellers bec. it has a bigger charge than depositing it in the machine(ATM) thru envelopes...So be very careful when opening an account here upon your arrival...With marichu, I accompanied here to a Pinay in-charge in ANZ.
So you have to know first all the banking benefits before you open an account kasi nakakalito mga accounts nila dito...ang dami...
cheers,

hi all,
hi corex, very well said...pero di ko ata nabasa yung experience mo na tinanong ka ng customers mo sa Caltex 'if ur name is TRAINEE' coz u have that id with the word trainee on it...hahahaha...
for all the other waiters, just keep on praying...keep more patience...and just try to read more abt the beauty of NZ. So if ur here already, medyo familiar na kayo...Then, start listing the things u will have to bring once ur WTR arrive. Coz when it comes na, kahit may list na kayo or have made preparations, there will still be much things to do...more things u want to bring...so try to focus ur mind in other things na akala nyo sisiw lang gawin...Dont worry, ur WTR will come at the right time, in HIS time...ryt???

|
|
Hi EJ.
I made my last inquiry on 6 December. I received a reply from the VO on 8 Dec., telling me that my application will be concluded at the end of this week; that means 17 Dec. So, the email on my approval yesterday came as a whammy surprise because it came 4 days earlier than expected. At this writing, I already have our visa-stickered passports back in my hands.
Recently, good things have been coming my and my partner's way. A friend way back in college offered us a 2 week free accommodation in Glen Eden. But we want to get our own place at once. I don't know which way to go at this point. I'm still bouncing in excitement, but I'll be buying our tickets shortly.
As for your visa guys, I see no reason why it won't come. It would be cruel and unreasonable of them to stall it for several months, then give you a regret letter. That's plainly crazy, so it's not going to happen. They are professionals. There's nothing wrong about our applications guys. I believe that our respective VOs are on our side but I think there's a higher authority in NZ who tells them when to issue the WTR. Definitely, it's gonna be here before you know it. My visa was issued on 9 December and I received it 12 Dec. Such gap seems to show that the VO is like a bridge between a higher authority and us applicants.
Meantime, keep yourself busy and thoughts away from the visa. I know how it feels to be waiting for something that you thought should have come a long time ago.
Cheers,
Kidra Tristal

Hi Kidra,
I know you and your partner are very happy and excited about your Visa. Although we don't know each other personally, I am also very happy for you and every one else who receive good news about his or her visa apllication. Anyway, what ever happens I hope you will still keep in touch after arriving there. May God Bless you .
For the others, remember the bible says, "Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed". All of our waiting has a purpose, and it is for our own good. Let's just keep our faith. |

|
|
Hi there, Kidra Tristal here.
I'm recently swamped with various tasks so I have yet to thank my well wishers. Thanks guys.
I already have my CFO sticker. It's a one-day work yesterday and it was an absolute waste of time and money. The things that were discussed there are nothing that we cannot know all by ourselves. It's like securing a new birth certificate from the NSO because we were made to believe that our NSO-issued birth certificates are already stale after 3 months. Does our birth certificate information really get stale? To my mind, birth certificate processing and that CFO thing are only some of our public officals' LEGAL and CREATIVE MEANS of collecting money from us by way of providing UNNECESSARY services. We do know for instance that the concept of "stale" CORRECTLY applies to the NBI and Police clearances, not to the NSO birth certificate. As for the CFO sticker, I don't see why there is a need for every Filipino wanting to migrate to go through such process. So much for this.
Anyway, sige na lang. I'll whine no more on this.
Okedoke, here's an advice. If you're not by your lonesome, bring photocopIES of the two-page approval letter from your VO when it's your time to go to the CFO. This reminder was not included in the list of requirements that you can find in the CFO webpage. A photocopy of the approval letter, however, for each member of your family will be attached to your application forms and visa photocopies. This is not really a big thing though, but you could save time if you arrive at the CFO with complete requirements.
Also, in the seminar, I believe that it is helpful to refrain from raising irrelevant questions as they could detain you at the CFO for more than two hours. (Admittedly, I am a little impatient on matters like this.) At the outset, of course, it was quite fun listening to the natural comedians in our group. We had had a good laugh. But we ended up spending more than two hours answering questions like: "Can we bring bagoong?"; "Can we bring atchara?"; "Can we bring acetone?"; "How about mertayoleyt (BENZALKONIUM CHLORIDE)?" "Can we bring a pet snake?" (What are you? Nuts?!) Definitely snakes are ot allowed as there are no snakes in NZ.
When we were about to leave, there was a last hirit: "P'wede po magdala ng daing na pusiiit?" Hahaha!!! Grrrr!
I think a good rule is, "WHEN IN DOUBT ABOUT NZ's POLICY ON A THING YOU WISH TO BRING, CONSIDER IT A PROHIBITED ITEM." Why bring a toy gun, for example? Why bring tawas if could be mistaken for shabu? In my case, I would rather eat bagoong and atchara in my dreams for the rest of my life than take the risk of being deported without seeing the streets of the NZ? Of course, I do love to eat--in a voracious fashion, in fact--our delicacies, especially those that foreigners find yucky (e.g., balot, locusts, etc.) Nevertheless, the reason for the rule is simple. Customs officials all over the world are unpredictable and volatile. We don't want to end up face to face with them at a bad time or on their "bad-hair" day. Also, interpretation of policy could vary from one customs official to another as rules are not formulated using scientific terms. And interpretations could not be in our favor all the time. Also policies could change while we are on flight and the defense, as always is, ignorance of the laws/rules/policies is not an excuse. Hindi po ako nagsusungit. I'll write agin as soon as I have something new to share.
Sige po. Many ,many thanks again.
Regards,
Kidra Tristal

FOR THOSE WHO ARE STILL WAITING: I believe that starting tomorrow, it will be a beautiful day for some of you. I am supposed to get my approval tomorrow. Napaaga nga lang probably because I emailed my VO at a right time and I reasoned with her. So, yours will follow starting tomorrow.
Advanced happy Christmas. |
