courtsense,

the pool selection process is program-generated. every two weeks they modify (or retain) the selection point, which for the longest time now has been retained at 100 points. once your EOI has been automatically (i.e., no manual intervention) selected from the pool, the system will generate a letter notifying you thru post that you have been selected. you'll be informed that your application will be alloted to a visa officer for initial evaluation and verification. Subsequently you'll have to wait approximately 3-4 months for The Decision and if it's successful, you'll receive the Invitation-to-Apply pack thru post.

Once you get the ITA pack, you're on to the next stage. And that's another story. Meanwhile, download the NZIS Operations Manual at http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/general/generalinformation/operationsmanual/.

Always remember that information is power so be well-armed!

goodluck,
snooze

good news to those who've been interviewed in bangkok this month. you may not have to wait 2 months for the decision. they're trying to meet their june 30 deadline so you'll probably get your visa within one month. prepare your NZ$2200 (1000 living allowance + 1000 outbound planefare + 200 migrant levy) per month per person.

Hi snooze,

Congratulations again.

After you have submitted your WTR application form, how much waiting do you need for the approval? Are you required to submit any document for your WTR form?

By the way, that June 30 deadline you mentioned really excites me. Would you know where it came from?

cheers.

jvic, you're welcome!
wow! that's fast, you've already sent the final requirements! me, still have to get a bank cert and renew my passport which is due to expire in Jan2006. you sent it thru dhl or what? you're ready to go in august? i hope i could...

jhsay, you need to provide
(1) bank certificate as proof you have sufficient funds (NZ$1000/head/month for 3 months + outbound fare),
(2) bank draft or thru credit card for migrant levy (US$200) + little extras,
(3) application for WTR form included in the letter
(4) passport

the stamped passport will be returned to you within weeks (won't take a month).

how i knew about the june30 deadline for the decision? a little bird told me. hehe! speculation ko lang po!

cheers!

I've been approved for a WTR visa. From the time it's issued, how long is it valid?

hi snooze,

im new in this site. my husband and i received an application to apply for WTR. just want to ask if you know the duration of the validity of visa that would be issued for WTRs?

and also, as soon as we receive our visa, when is the soonest or latest that we should leave for NZ?

and also since we dont have relatives or friends in NZ, i am thinking of taking a vacation leave from work and accompany my husband (who is the principal)first to help him settle in NZ, and then come back for our child after we have somewhat settled already ..would there be any problem in this kind of plan?

thanks! your answers and adivice will truly be appreciated:)

Hi snooze,

This is my first time to open the site. I found it very educational. congrats on your approval for WTR.
I have few questions if you dont mind. I receive the invitation to apply for WTR 3 weeks ago, then i immediately send all the requirements including bank certificates, passports and migrant levy and the application forms. HOw long shall i wait before it will be approved. And how long do you have to leave before your visa is still valid.
Thank you and hope you will answer my querry.
Again Congrats.

Hi snooze,

Just registered today. Just want to know how long did it take for you to receive your visa from the time you submitted your WTR application? I'm just worried kasi I couriered my WTR application last May 26 and haven't received my visa. Worst is that they haven't confirm that they received my application. Sana wala naman problema. Thanks and congrats.
