street shows?

Hi i'm planning in comming over to NZ for a year but would like to know if anyone knowns about the busking ( street shows) and if it is required to get a permit in each city ? I hope make my money through busking and am not sure how to go about this without getting thrown out if i've got it wrong? Also does anyone know of any Circus clubs, groups etc around NZ that i can come along too. Yours Chris.

Hi Cosek, I believe you need a local council permit. Doing a search I found: "All buskers must hold – and present on request – a current Wellington City Council street performance licence. Anyone can get licence, but licensees must act responsibly and comply with all conditions in order to keep it. Licences are free and valid for six months at which time you can reapply." http://www.wellington.govt.nz/services/streetperf/ It proberbly varies from area to area, so contact the local council in what ever area you are in.
