thank you so much highlander...
you know,i am planning to take IELTS exam here in korea dis april as required by the agency, then they will apply a visa for me to fiji island for a 3 months caregiver course then after 3 months i will continue the said course in NZ for another six months...
more or less, the estimated expenses for the entire process is about u$14k xcluding accomodation fee in NZ...
13$ is very far from what they`ve told me.they said, the salary of caregiver in NZ is bet.30-40$/hr.
thanx God i`m steered in this forum...
thanx too,for there are people who`s sharing their thougths and ideas unselfishly...
thanx highlander......
cheers, |

Did You get a job as a caregiver? What is the actual rate? is it really 30 $/per hour? What ive found is 13 or 16 $. |

Dear Bonex,
Caregiver is not a job that is in the list of occupations needed in new zealand, long term or short term. it is not a skilled occupation so no hope of aquiring residency by being a caregiver. They definitely do not earn $30 per hour. it ranges from a depressing minimum wage of $12.75 per hour to just a little over $18.00, and that is as a temp only. If there is anyone out there earning over $20.00 as a caregiver, congratulations to you. Fiji has a history of booting out the new zealand ambassador to their country. I wouldn't pay the agency a single cent if i were you. |

| By the way, studying in NZ does not guarantee you get a work permit afterwards. It depends on what you studied and for how long. I know if it is a tertiary degree you took, you can possibly get a year's work permit. conditions apply. Renewal is not guaranteed especially if you did not get a job in line with your qualification. caregiving is not a tertiary degree. |

| The thing is one of the requirement is having 2yrs of work experience and obviously I don't have an experience aside from the internships that I have had in college. What I want to happen is study there for a year or 2 first and gain my internship or experience there. Is that possible? |
