Hmmm, I kept myself as mere reader/observer the past few weeks in the forum and I could see how positions have changed. Ang akala ko ako ang negative, e-pal (whatever that means), sarcastic, etc. in the forum. Reading the posts submitted lately, I can see that the MTRCB people are posting comments that seem to contradict what they preach - be supportive, nice, accomodating, inspiring, etc...Hmmm, I wonder why the sudden mega shift? Hahay, perhaps some people cannot maintain consistency with what they proclaim to be their domain. My old man says "a man is measured not by the decisions he makes in life- but on how he stands by those decisions ad infinitum".

Anyway, I wish everyone all the best.

In order to give you more worthless information and from my understanding of colloquial Filipino, e-pal is a derogatory term derived from "kupal."

"Kupal" is the colloquial term referring to the creamy, white secretion generated on the excess skin surrounding a male's penis. This secretion happens to uncircumcised males who do not practise good bodily hygiene.

There, have I ruined you lunch? Too bad. Shocked

If one calls you an e-pal, he/she means that you are some loser hanging over a dirty male's uncircumcised penis.

In my observation, the comments have undergone a major shift when the article in the Herald relating to the embassy issuing warnings on the WTR visa was posted. That article has thrown a bucket of cold water over heated and sometimes silly discussions between Team Positive and Team Negative and has brought home the fact that the chances of Pinoy migrants to successfully acquire residency during the recession is very, very low.

Also, I believe that new and/or silent members had the opportunity to read over the posts in the forum during the holidays and have now accepted the difficulties facing 9 month WTR holders and are planning their own migration accordingly.

mga pips, i dont think name calling is proper dito sa forum, let us respect ang opinion ng bawat isa without getting personal.

pare-pareho naman ang reaason kung bakit tayo andito, para matulungan at makatulong sa kababayan natin pagdating sa nz issues Wink

Depends on the name you are called. Kung "Sexy!" tawag sa iyo eh di ok!

Kung may tao na nag-iiba pa ng forum name para lang tawagan si wellybuddy na "epal" eh mga duwag lang ang gumagawa nun.

For your information, I did not call wellybuddy the "epal" word. Since wellybuddy didn't know the meaning of the word I took it upon myself to explain the terminology.

Who said I am calling him that? If I need to say something that important to him, I'll give him the courtesy of saying it in front of his face and not hide and create a new name just to spite him. Mga duwag lang ang gumagawa nun.

Hope I'm still in your Christmas list, wellybuddy.

Rich? Haha, I wish. With a 39% tax hanging over our salaries?!

I'm not crying though, we are thankful for the opportunities but we have to scrimp and save like the rest.

Congratulations on the new job! Public or private sector?

Public sector pa din. Surprisingly pay's higher than private sector equivalents. (also seems more relaxed...no need to pull in clients).
