| Is it necessary that everybody has to take ielts exam while applying for ITA application or as written in ITA letter if we convince visa officer that our recognised education for which we are gaining points under skilled migrant category is all done in english medium i mean as in my case upto Phd level then our ielts may be exempted.what u guys suggest ? i have to submit my ITA on 23 feb 2010. |

You can do that, and good luck to that, but if the visa officer requests you to submit IELTS you will submit an IELTS result with the required passmark. |

| have you completed your PhD? Try writing your VO a letter, attach a digital copy of your dissertation. it might help. Depends still really on where you got you PhD from.... |

if you have the bandwith to do it, I suggest yes. IELTS is useful not only for ITA application.
however, in my case, was able to skip this. Was able to get a certification from my school that the teaching medium of the university is English with the exception of Pilipino/History subjects as part of my engineering curriculum. luckily, it was accepted and IELTS or other proofs were not required. |

| you do not need an IELTS exam if you can give a certification from your school that the Medium of instruction is English. UST and UP are exemted from giving IELTS. They just give the certification. |
