Hello... dami kong tanong... sana di kayo makulitan

My wife's niece gave me a sponsorship form that I may use as one of my ITA requirement. She is already a PR there.

QUESTION:
- being the principal applicant, can I realy use this sponsorship form?
- or can my wife get points from her niece's sponsorship?

if it has anything to do with the PRINCIPAL applicant, it may be useful to support the application. the application will be assessed mainly on the PRINCIPAL applicant's ablity to meet the nzis requirements.

What is the form number of the sponsorship form your wife's niece intends to sign?

my wife's niece gave us INZ 1025 form, "Sponsorship Form for Visiting New Zealand".

She also attached a certified copy of her passport, Residence Permit, Returning Resident's Visa, a copy of their land transfer (house), and certificate of employment

Please advise if this okay

If I am not mistaken, that sponsorship form is used if the applicant is applying for a visitor/tourist visa, not for skilled migrant visa. Unless you are applying for a visitor's visa perhaps?

Read the first few pages of the form it will tell you what the sponsorship form is intended for.

I think it would be better if your niece-in-law, if immigration recognizes relationships by affinity (by marriage, in common terms) and if your visa officer requests so, sends a signed personal letter in support of your skilled migrant application.

@ levi

Do you have a format of the letter which my wife's niece can use? It would be a big help for me if you can provide one.

Sorry I do not have a format to provide.

From what I have personally experienced, those relatives in support of a skilled migrant visa do not initially send letters to immigration. What the principal applicant does is to provide contact details of relatives living in new zealand. It is up to the visa officer to ask for a letter of support or sometimes a phone interview is conducted although that is rare.

At this stage, a letter of support is frankly not the primary evidence to support your application. What you should take time and effort to submit are documents that will support the points that you have claimed in terms of skill and education. Without those points accredited by immigration, no amount of support letter from relatives can prop up your application.

Not that I am belittling your niece in law's offer of help, it will help in some way, but not as big as you are expecting. What would be best for you now is explain to immigration of your relationship with your niece in law and that she is willing to send a letter in support of your application if immigration would like her to submit one. As always, best of luck.

Good day to all! To apply for a tourist visa in NZ, does the sponsoring party need to be a PR? What if she is only holding a working visa? Are there cases wherein a tourist visa holder once in NZ applied for the bridging program? is this allowed? thanks Smile
