Just an update, I pass the second attempt on the 8th of Feb., same examiner, same location, Orewa.

What I did was to stay relax and focus..watch out for signs, if there's a construction going on the road and you see 30k sign, you have to obey what the sign says...I almost failed again for that reason, I had 3 warnings for 30k sign speed limit.

@Philidor:
My fault was very aggressive in intersections, I can't wait for slow vehicle from my right. Impatient=$80, that's my lesson
Laughing

Good luck to all..

I dont get it. Asan ang logic nun? Le me check logic Confused Chances of you getting doomed is higher in first year of driving in NZ a total opposite of what you use to do. So pa drive drive ka lang muna at pag confident ka na here comes the experienced, serious looking kiwi checker but deep inside shaking and praying, get me out of this alive or ACC pwede na rin.

yup, meron ako friend who failed dyan sa howick. madali lang daw yung part 1 (basic driving skills- speeed control, gap selection, turning, roundabouts, use of signal light, give way/ stop sign use)& part 2 (spotting ng hazzards) kasi malinis nga ang daan dyan sa part na yan.

naging problem nya yung part 3 (high speed test)na meron downhill/uphill speed control. hindi kasi sya nag familiarize sa area before nag driving test kaya nabigla daw sya dun sa part ng maraitai.

parang tagaytay daw with a lot of turns/ curves, uphill and downhill plus meron daw part na downhill na matarik then biglang left uphill. dun daw sya nadale, crossing double yellow lines. umuulan kasi kaya di daw nya natantya yung turn, natakot ata yung puti na testing officer kasi 2x nya nagawa. bagsak! hehe...

@jc

eto yung medyo malabo ko na recollection.

we started syempre sa aa office, then fernhill drive, pinot ln, sh16,then sa loob ng vicinity within triangle rd, royal rd at moire rd. yung 3rd part na fast speed limit tanda ko sa sh16 ulit.

just make sure you stop pag stop sign and slow down/giveway sa giveway sign. wag ka lilipat ng lane pag nagra-roundabout ka, and maintain 45-50 na speed. except sa 3rd part na try to maintain 80 if 80, and 100 kung 100 ang speed limit.mareklamo sila pag mabagal ka.

dont stop sa bus lane and driveways, dont drive sa parking lanes, dont drive over double yellow lines and relax lang during the test.

I suggest mag-ikot ka muna sa area para familiar ka kasi ang daming maliliit na roundabout baka malimutan mong magsignal kasi parang diretso lang ang daan.

Nga pala, my testing officer also told me that there is no specific route na ginagamit during part 1&2. yung part 3 lang daw ang same route.

goodluck!

Thanks Philidor for the driving tips sa Waitakere/West Gate-Massey. Medyo mahirap ang practical driving test. Puti ang examiner ko at pinaikot-ikot ako sa stages 1 and 2. Marami kaming street na dinaanan. Hindi ko na matandaan kahit nag- scout ako sa area although it helps that you have some familiarity in the area. Anyway, with God's blessings, nakapasa naman ako.Importante rin to always look after your blind spots when changing lanes aside from checking your mirrors.
