Where to find payed work?

Hello everybody

I have a working holiday visum and in two weeks I will probably need to look for a job. I prefer a payed job instead of one where you have to work for food and a place to stay. A job that give the both (so payed + food + place to stay) is also good. Which place is the best place to find a job like that? (I know that I then have to work more than 4 -5 hours a day but that's not a problem). I prefer the south island and a place where I could learn to surf.
