|
|
Hi, we have been NZ permanent residents for a year now but are looking to go back to the Philippines in the next few months for good. My question is, is there a way for us to obtain the indefinite returning residence visa without having to fulfill the 2 year residency requirement? Nabasa ko yung brochure ng NZIS and, aside from having to buy a house in NZ (which we cannot afford), may iba pa bang paraan? Specifically, are the following options feasible?
1. Principal applicant goes back to Manila while the rest of the family remain here till the 2 yr residency requirement.
2. Present evidence of being fully employed for at least 9 months in the two year period immediately before lodging an RRV application. (Established base in NZ requirement for RRV)
Indefinite RRV is of no great value to us as parents but, it would be nice if we could give our kids the option to settle here in the future if they would like to. Your opinions and advice would be highly appreciated. |

| Best to ask immigration, your visa officer or immigration lawyer about your options since from my understanding of the general rules, the 2 year residency requirement is inflexible. Good luck and if you know how to get RRV in less than two years do let us know. |

| Hi copi, ok naman dito sa NZ pero, masyadong malaki ang discrepancy in terms of financial/professional prospects ng Manila at NZ para sa amin. Yung decision namin is not for everyone, lahat tayo iba-iba ang choices na hinaharap. |

I am very sorry to hear that your migration story wasn't all wine and roses. If it is not too much to ask, what specific industry are you guys in? Have you tried looking for more financially secure jobs across the ditch? |

Hope you are still in NZ.If you don't mind and for the benefit of would be migrants, from what industry you and your wife have been working? I can understand your situation, as we are primarily in NZ for the benefit of our children. Once their future have been secured, we have always the option of going back and retiring in our country not to mention the benefits and the standard of living being PR/NZ citizen in this country. |
