Hello and welcome to the fray, este, forum.
I don't know much about IPENZ but I know a little about "consultants."
Are you and your consultant aware of the provisions of the New Zealand Immigration Advisers Licensing Act? Simply put, all consultants who dispense immigration advise need to be registered. NZ based consultants need to be registered by 04 May 2009. Non-NZ based consultants such as consultants from the Philippines need to be registered by May 2010, which is 6 months from now.
If you need further information, I encourage you to visit www.iaa.govt.nz . |

Hi stonlog....
if you are planning to be a member of IPENZ...you should read and go to the IPENZ site and check which classification you belong there...there are definitions on the site as well so you will be guided accordingly....
anyways...if you are still an updated member of PICE (Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers)..which I am not actually..better if you can apply as an APEC engineer http://www.ptc.org.ph/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3&Itemid=5 in the Philippines
as there is a provision in the IPENZ site that if you have an APEC registration, membership is automatic...(not sure but it's easier if you have it as what I have understood)
Good luck |

Hi Levi,
Thank you for reminding me about it,i did checked that site before and did found the list of all consultants who are registered and am glad that mine is listed there too. Will of course we do not know the coming registration on 2010 its there prerogative i think, but i have faith that they will do it by that time.In addition to my query is that is it possible for me to know the status of my application online since im using a consultant for my application? Will of course they do not like the idea but is there any option to do?
Thanks |

It is standard modus operandi for consultants to keep online username and password from their clients to prevent clients from doing the applying themselves and lose money from it.
You mentioned that you have been selected from the pool - does immigration sent out a letter confirming this? Were you shown any document confirming your selection?
Also, I've know lots of Pinoy engineers (in different areas) who have found skilled jobs without registering with IPENZ. They register after working for a couple of years and/or completed masteral courses here in NZ.
Of course, those people I have known have found skilled jobs during the boom times, so I am unsure if the rules have changed since the recession and IPENZ registration have become necessary for skilled work. |

Hi Stonlog,
Since Philippines is non-signatory of Washington Accord you can apply to IPENZ Graduate membership.
Just download the form on this link and send JP copy of your university diploma, PRC registration and NZQA Level assessment (if applicable).

Cheers,
Achie |
