Can't really blame NZ, for all it's beauty and quaintness that has not translated into a healthy bank balance. Unlike the US and Australia it also does not have money to jumpstart the recession. It sank all its money into infrastructure since we are hosting the rugby world cup two years from now. So for TPTB this is an option to pour in money into the economy.
Take note also that your 500,000 NZD does not sit pretty in the bank. You have to either set up a business or buy a business worth 500,000.00 and hire at least 3 workers who are only kiwi citizens or residents, NOT work visa holders. |
