I have lodged my application for permit extension (for me, wife and son). Now only one month left for my WTR9 to expire. Lets see how much time they will take for PR, and how much time they wud take for permit extension atleast. keeping my finger crossed.

My permit extention application is recieved but till now not assigned to any visa officer. When I called in contact centre they told that it takes usually 2-3 weeks for decision on work permits. On residence application, almost 6 weeks have passed since I submitted my contract, salary slips and company letter, but till now no response. Just wondering how much time they will take more!!

Any advise from anybody !!

hard to say until you are assigned a visa officer. try to call the trunkline again and ask to be connected to a technical officer. tell them your visa is about to expire ~ on the spot pwedeng hugutin ng technical officer ang papers mo (like what we did before), 2 weeks ata before mag expire 6month wtr we asked to be connected to a technical officer based sa advise ng staff sa immig queen st, on the spot sinabihan kami na tatawag sya next day. next day tumawag nga at binigyan kami ng visa officer. after nun mabilis na ang communication thru email and fone and within 2 weeks na approve ang PR namin.

advise lang po based sa experience namin.

Hi Guys,

today I visisted wellington branch with an application request for doing fast track processing of my permit extension. and Bingo........it was done on the same day. They extended it for another 6 months and said that its enough time for them to take any decision on my residence application. So for now, i am not worried that I will continuing in my job and so does my employer also who has been very helpful.

Hi Guys,

Just got the letter from Immigration that our Permanent residency is approved. Now we have to send our passports and migrant levy fee.
Does anyone has idea how much time they will take to return passpots!!

In my case,I received a letter confirming approval of our resident visas on 08 Dec and our passports were returned 19 January. So, it took around 6 weeks due to the Christmas&New Year holiday season. Also, INZ backlogs on immigration paper processing.

It was a perfect Christmas gift. Thanks for all who gave their valuable advises.
