PEOS (Pre Employment Orientation Seminar) at POEA or PDOS (Pre Departure Orientation Seminar)at CFO ?
Which seminar do I need to take before leaving for NZ? I have an open work visa (spouse of a NZ work visa holder). |

i have an open work visa too under partnership with a Permanent Resident. NZ Embassy in Manila instructed me to attend PDOS. Im not sure with your case, wala ba naka attach na letter from your VO or Rainier Sales? _________________ Submitted Work Visa (Partnership) Via Center: 10 Oct. 2008

If I have lots of spare time however, I'd join in the two seminars (if these are free). It's the knowledge you earned fom these seminars that really matters. But then again, it's just me....
O, sa mga nostalgic jan, nag post na ako ng positive comment |

You need PDOS.
Just go to POEA and ask. It's likely they'll tell you don't need PEOS since you don't have an employer yet. |

you'll need to take the pdos at CFO. Call them for a schedule. you don't need to go to poea.
i'm also an open work visa holder. |

jc_sbc_12, thanks, actually i'm just about to file my application at the VIA Center. So they will give me a letter informing me which seminar to take? btw, i noticed in your timeline that it took 9 months for your visa to be approved! why so long?
wellingtonianbuddy, wow thanks, a sensible advice for a change! doesn't it feel good when you are able to give a poster some helpful comment?
engr2008and tigerpawz, thanks, i am also under the impression that i don't need PEOS since i don't have an employer yet, but neither do i fall under the PDOS category since i'm not a WTR or PR holder. |

| @Popski - actually, the letter from immigration only says that you do not need to provide OEC from POEA but it doesn't say you need to take the CFO seminar. So you'll have to call cfo and reserve a schedule after you receive your visa and letter. |

| OEC, overseas employment certificate, you only need this if you're on work visa. sa POEA kinukuha 'to. |

Hi! I'm now in NZ on an open work permit (based on my spouse' work permit) I did not undergo either PDOS or PEOS. I was given a Special Exit Clearance by POEA instead.
Documents needed are:
1)letter of request
2)photocopyf your passport/visa
3)photocopy of your spouse'passport/work permit and/or employment contract
4) photocopy of the letter from NZ immigration stating that you are not required to provide an Overseas Employment Certificate
There is no fee for this and it was processed within 2 days. |
