Application Number: 8874873
My name is Popua Akolo. I am a spouse of a Student Visa for three years. My husband left on the 18th Feb 2009. I lodged my Application to NZImmigration Office in Tonga on the 07 April 2009. Up to today I haven't got my visa, because of my Medical Form which they send it to NZ. The office here told me they haven't receive my Medical Assessment. It seems to me that's too long. I am so worried because my husband really want his family to be together and there a things which I will help him such as washing his clothes and cook his food etc. As he is very busy in study he really needs my support. Can you please help or any other way to warranty so I can get my visa soon? |

Hi and welcome to the forum,
Usually, if there is an abnormality found in your medical exam, then immigration will forward your file to the head office and will, in turn, give it to a specialist for examination. That specialist will then see if you need more tests to be done or for you to see a specialist to seek treatment if you do have a medical condition. This process really takes months on end, so if you have a medical condition, then the long period is really expected.
It is frustrating, of course, to wait for months for the results but do understand that immigration would like to be very sure you are in the best of health when you arrive here so that you won't be a burden to the health system in the near future. Who knows, the results might be in within the next few weeks. Good luck! |

processing of applications of family of one under student visa should be very fast and pretty straightforward. if no issues with documents and medical exams, you should have gotten your visa to join your spouse long ago.
did you receive any email/letter from nzis about any issue with your medical assessment? normally you are informed of this (e.g. the reasons for referring your medical test result to the NZ med assessor) so you know what steps to take (for your own health as well as immigration purposes).
regards.... |
