All your queries will be answered by this website:
www.immigration.govt.nz
If you have read some of the information there, go back here to ask your questions.
You should know that nz is in recession so not much jobs available now, especially to non-citizens and residents like those who have 9 month work to residence visas under the skilled migrant category.
Good luck. |

Yes and No.
We normal people term the skilled migrant category application as the "WTR" because that's what the migrant has to do really - find work to gain residence.
But, if you read the immigration website carefully, they have a different meaning to work-to-residence: those who were able to secure work visas of two years or more can apply for PR based on their skilled work. It probably is more aptly described as a "residence through work" sort of thing.
The whys and hows on how to apply the skilled migrant category is all on the immigration website. I have to remind you that the skilled migrant category has so many diverse issues to be explained in a few paragraphs. Have a good read on the policies and the requirements - then ask questions you need answers to. Good luck. |

hi to all,
i need your help to answer this; di pa ko nakapag-take ng IELTS:
D1. Please indicate how you meet the minimum standard of English, as defined in the Guide under English Language Requirements in the section Summary of Terms. *
An IELTS Test Report with an overall band score of 6.5 or more
Study for a recognised qualification conducted entirely in English
Current skilled employment in New Zealand for 12 months or more
Otherwise meet the minimum standard, as defined in the Guide
None of the above
For further information refer to the following links: IELTS, Recognised Qualification, Skilled Employment
PLEASE NOTE: Regardless of the statement you select, NZIS may ask you to provide an IELTS certificate.
hope you can help me. |

I am not sure of the latest policy, but I know previously you have to wait for your visa officer to require you to take ielts.
Don't make the mistake of taking ielts before applying because 1. taking the exam is expensive and 2. the ielts validity has a short life span - it might even be expired by the time the visa officer will require it.
You have to make sure that the visa officer asks for it - and politely ask her the reasons for it despite the fact you submitted evidence of your english proficiency.
Have you started your expression of interest online? |

Usually, migrants use option 2. You go to your University and ask for a "Certification of Medium of Instruction" certifying that your university course was conducted in english. Visa officers usually ask for option 1 later on. |

There is a list of licensed immigration consultants on www.iaa.govt.nz.
Hiring a consultant takes money, they charge like high-powered lawyers. so if you have money to burn, choose the one you feel comfortable. |

That's ok at least you are careful. Take your time in filling up your eoi form.
I hope you've also been keeping up with the latest policies in immigration and the current state of the nz economy and how it can affect you. |
