I know this question was probably asked multiple times, but I couldn't find a topic. I'm planning a trip to NZ for about one month(both islands, hiking and go crazy). I would just like some advice about how much money i would need.
Rough draft per day of essentials
30$ food
25$ for hostels, campgrounds
50$ car rental
20$ gas
From your experiences, would this seem right? looks like i could do great with approx 4000$? |

hello canadian,
your estimates are ok - except for the food (tourist places like Queenstown tend to be very pricey)....but I think your 4K will go a long long way.... |

| kk thanks, Only thing that is bothering me, if it would be summer over there i would leave next month haha, but since winter is around the corner, i might have to wait until like, september-october |

Next month is the tail-end of autumn running into winter (June to September). Spring starts right about Sept to November, then Summer from December to mid-April. |

| yeahhh, by the sounds/looks of it, Spring is still nice? Iv'e already know where i wantto go and such. |

Not sure, spring sure has it's own beauty - but the weather is iffy. Sunny then rain then wind then sun and another round of that. Maybe plan at tail-end so you can catch some of the summer rays. |
