Hi Janice,

Can you give us details on the WTR visa given ? I heard after the released of WTR visa, you need to fly to NZ within 3 months, after arriving there you have 9 months to find permanent job to apply for permanency.

Is there no extension in case you can not find permanent job within 9 months (fue to recession) ?

Thank you in advance.

Warm Regards,
GARY

hi Gary,
Our WTR visa was defered in 9 months. Yes, you need to fly to NZ within 3 months, upon entry, that is the start of the 9-month period. There is still 3 months extension after the 9 months.

hello,

sure ka ba na meron pa 3months extension ang 9month WTR? yun kasi letter sa amin dati (last year) nakalagay na meron 3month extension ang 6month WTR pero ang 9month WTR, walang na automatic extension.

better ask your VO to be sure.

the 3 month extension is not a matter of right (i.e. it is not automatic).

nzis will consider each case given the circumstance of the wtr holder.

at this time, without any substantial reason, the 3 month extension is a long shot. di nga makakuha ng job in 9 months, within 3 months pa kaya? makes sense to me.

hi,

I think you can only get an extension if you get a skilled job on the 8th or 9th month. You'll need the extension to get the required 3-months ongoing skilled employment.

Goodluck then. hataw na agad pag apply pagdating dito.

just for info, most agencies and employers require na meron ka valid work permit for atleast 6months after they hire you. di ata sila informed na usually 9months lang ang wtr na binibigay. Yung iba 12months pa ang requirement.

if you reach yung less than 6months na validity sa work permit mo without getting a job, your chances of getting an offer of employment is drastically reduced.

from personal experience lang po. a lot of friends ganun din naging experience.

hi Alepaula,

hi jojo07101975,

As per experience, it's not necessary to get a 2 way ticket. I asked the agency where I purchased my ticket regarding this, and ang sabi was dapat lang sufficient yung funds mo to purchase a return ticket when you are not able to settle yourself in NZ in the given 9 months. Though, mas mahal nga lang ang one-way. I purchased the one-way ticket only. Arrived in NZ 3rd of June 2009.
