No conflict, as long as both of you are of age, over 18, not relatives and your intended partner has not sponsored the application of another person through marriage or partnership in the last 5 years.
He/she must have no records of domestic violence.
As long as your visa conditions do not forbid you to re-apply again for a new visa to extend your stay, you can re-apply for a visa to stay longer, but you need to re-apply now since it takes 30 days usually to process visas here in nz.
try to go to the immigration website to see what the conditions are. |

So the visitor’s visa converting it to work permit is almost the same as student visa converting it to work permit—that makes sense. It will be more expensive and risky but faster—If immigration can convert visitors (main purpose is to visit and not to work) and/or student (main purpose is to study and not to work) visas to work permits then that means it’s allowed in a way. Thanks for the clarification.
Different ways for different people—it’s good to be well informed. SMC process might not be for everybody so there are other ways like visitor’s visa, student visa and business/investment category (which I would think will be the most expensive one). Another fast and easy way is to marry somebody with PR visa already—hehehe.
Thanks again! |
im just read your post.. if the guy is PR already and im visitors visa card holder its okei if we get married it is possible that i can stay there for long and apply PR to after. |
Yes, with conditions. |

My hubby had applied a visitor’s visa along with my 2 cousins to attend my cousins wedding in oamaru but unfortunately my hubby and one of my cousins was denied. My other cousin who is the brother of the one in oamaru was only granted a LPV for a month. We were planning to apply again for a visitor’s visa this time without a sponsor since my cousin in Oamaru is currently holding a working visa only. Is there a timeframe that we have to wait before re-applying? Do we really have to be consistent in everything that we declared in the first application and in the future applications that were planning to do? Do they really scrutinize previous applications vs. your current applications?
Please help. Any comments or suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot. |

There are consultancy agencies that claim they can do that as long as one is not choosy about the job. The agency said that they have a counterpart in nz to help you look for employment hence your visitor visa will be converted to work permit in a matter of weeks. I just want to know if this is possible as I desperately want to go for it. I will welcome any comments and insights regarding this matter. Thanks! |
Luma na pero sagutin ko na din. I know somebody. Ako po. I went here on a 2-month visitor's visa. Legal na turista dahil may kaibigan ako dito. I arrived on a Wednesday, phoned companies the next day to secure job interviews and got hired the following Tuesday Wala pa pong 1 week. Habang hinihintay ko ma-convert ang visit pass ko to work permit, bakasyon grande ako sa NZ sa loob ng 2 months.
But I don't think this applies to everyone and that was almost 2 years ago, without this global recession. |
