we received the sponsorship form and just what I thought. my aunt declare that my sister would stay only 1 month. if I had knew this ahead of time, I probably tell them the right thing to do.
What is your opinion about this, should we go on 1 month stay visitor visa? my parents still insist that my sister can get a work because my aunt will help her. They also plan to seek help from an agency. I think this is not necessary because as what I learn from this forum, you don't need an agency as long as you meet all the requirements. agencies will only get your spare money. hehehe |

Shrugs my shoulders ... since your sister is beholden to your aunt's largess, then we should leave it at that and hope for the best. |

Yes, my username before is jruelcycle now jruelcycleNZ, it is difficult finding job here in NZ I came here on a visitor visa and easily been approved in Manila. Just tell the truth, do not lie. I told them that one of my purpose in coming to nz is to find job and to be able to secure a job offer. And even in the immigration and custom in Auckland, they hold me for 3 hours and keep on asking my purpose of visit and told them also is there anything wrong looking for a job opportunities in their country. Things was very terrible I easily granted a visitor visa in Manila and I almost not permitted to enter in the border here. I was almost prepare to be sent back to Manila on the next available flight and accepted that NZ is not my place. I stand with all my reasons and answer that they can verify my application for visitor visa in Manila that I also included to look for a job opportunities and I don't want to stay also in NZ illegally. I told them also that I am a well respected traveler, businessman and engineer way back in our country. Before I was question by a custom official my visitor permit for 59 days were already granted and I know it is only a routine and random checking and I was been pick up as one. Luckily then they granted and permitted me to enter NZ.
For almost 2 months it is not okay for me because I was already desperate to find job because of recession. After I renew my visitor visa before expiration to get extended lots of job offer came on January I turn down four companies and accepted one which gave me a good offer. Now I am well secure and okay in NZ. Being given an opportunity to practice my profession in civil engineering working as a Project Manager and given a permanent position.
Wag kayo mawalan ng pag asa, although there is recession but if your job is needed by the company madali lang. I WENT TO NEW ZEALAND ALONE WITH NO ONE OR ANY RELATIVES OR FRIEND HERE. STAY IN THE BACKPACKER IN SURF 'N SNOW FOR A MONTH SPENDING 60 DOLLARS A DAY that's include foods. MY ONLY ADVISE BRING MORE MONEY TO SURVIVE.

You are right, what happened to you is pure luck. You are indeed lucky to make it in the border.
Does the three-hour ordeal still haunt you in your thoughts/dreams? Just wondering. |

Very lucky indeed, and I hope your apparent luck will see you through this difficult time.
But I would have to remind those who are reading your post that what happened to you is a one-shot deal.
If people are sorely tempted to try their luck hoping the above situation will also happen to them then they are in for a disappointment. |

Interesting point there, luck. Oprah Winfrey (African American billionaire and rabid Obama supporter) has described "luck" as "opportunity meeting preparation."
So, you're right, his preparation served him right when the opportunity came along. |

People, NEVER EVER TRUST immigration agencies in the Philippines. They will promise you a jar of gold so that they can get your money.
I came here in NZ using a visitor's visa, and luckily, found a job (my profession was included in the Skills shortage list) and got my work permit with the help of my immigration agent who happens to be a pinoy.
Please check your Skills shortage or long term shortage list from the NZIS website (www.immigration.govt.nz). You can check for job vacancies at some legitimate job-seekers website (www.seek.co.nz, www.trademe.co.nz, www.search4jobs.co.nz, etc). Please note: most legitimate websites in NZ have the prefix .co.nz.
Again, as what many of our kababayans have posted, you can process your visitors, WTR, etc on your own thru the NZIS website. |
