| Been here the past 2 weeks. We have lots of kababayans here, a few arrived just recently, me included. NZ is a good place to raise a family. I joined my Filipino host in watching their 10 year old boy play field hockey tonight. It was a joy to see him play at siya lang ang Pinoy, syempre magaling. Later on we went to see Pinoys practising basketball for the upcoming yearly Filipino grand reunion in October. The bayanihan spirit is working so far. I too dreamed and prayed so hard to come over here. I made a vow that once I'm here I'll write about what's happening here for the benefit of our kababayans. I'm in Hamilton. |

what exactly do you mean by the "bayanihan spirit"? playing basketball together?
are'nt migrants supposed to acclimatize with the kiwis rather than sticking together in an ehtnocentric manner?
anyway, if there is such thing - why can't we do that in the Philippines? Hmm, makes one wonder. |
