Dears,
Would like to seek your expertise about including half sister in the application. My hubby is the principal applicant and we want my half sister to be included in our application. Is this possible?
Thanks for the enlightenment.

check mo ang manual/guide that came with the application form/ andun yun.
cheers. |

For those applying for residency through skilled migration, I'm afraid only immediate family members, ie spouse and children, are included in the application.
Once the residency status is given, one can "sponsor" other family members but with certain criteria. Since you are the one with blood ties with her, you are the best one to sponsor her once you get your own permanent residency.
For parents, the rule is "centre-of-gravity" meaning a nz permanent resident can sponsor a parent's permanent residency if majority (50% or more) of the parent's children are residents of another country other than the philippines. so if you are three siblings, two of you should be living out of the philippines in order for residency for the parent to be allowed.
For siblings, the rule is "home-alone" meaning the half sister is the ONLY relative living in the philippines - the parents and other siblings are either living in another foreign country or is deceased.
All information can be confirmed on www.immigration.govt.nz
Have you thought of suggesting to your half sister to apply independently as a skilled migrant as well?
All the best |
