Hi,

Trina Kuo was my visa officer. Mabait siya, don't worry she will listen to you attentively during your interview and you can email her, she usually answers promptly. Pagaralan mo lang yung questionnaire they will give you before you go to the interview. Usually she will give you a decision after 2 months after the interview. I've never heard anyone that Trina Kuo declined. Be confident, at wag mabulol. Usually pag nervous ka it shows. Don't wear flashy outfits, just a simple attire will do.

Good luck!!! Just keep praying and everything will be fine.

Hi, My VO is also Trina Kuo but I haven't got the interview schedule yet. I lodged my ITA last Feb. 4, 2008, I'm wondering how long does it take to hear from them for an interview date.

Hi,

Usually if there are no problems it would take 2-3 months after lodging. Remember, the immigration needs to check the documents you sent. We lodged our application last September 2006, but was interviewed March 2007. This was because Peralta Medical Clinic (A CLINIC WE DON'T RECOMMEND!!!!!), will create all sorts of sickness even if you don't have one. But if Peralta Medical Clinic made an accurate and correct assessment, we should have been interviewed December 2006.

Si Trina Kuo rin ang VO namin. We lodged our ITA last March 3, 2008. According to NZIS' letter of Acknowledgment, we can expect a decision by Sept 3, 2008. Wala pa syang communication/email sa amin regarding additional docs/requirements. Mabusisi ba si Trina? Does she require more documents aside from those stated in the ITA? Can we really expect an invite for WTR/PR on Sept. 3?

Hi,

Most of you are asking what is the time line of getting an interview upon submitting your documents to satisfy the requirements for the ITA. Usually, in most cases it would take you 2-3 months, again if there are no problems. You can also read the trend in other forums way back in 2006.

The other question is if it's true that the interview takes place in Bangkok. There were earlier applicants interviewed in Bangkok, but we had our interview last year in the Phils, precisely at BPI Tower, at the back of Equitable PCI Head Office.

Now the validity would depend when you applied and if you're covered before the cut-off period when they started to change the policy to 9 months. We applied in September 2005, but was given a WTR visa last year November for 6 months. Now if you got your visa for 6 months, you can renew it with a maximum period of 1 year, based on the call center here in N.Z. But in the letter that you will receive when your WTR visa is issued, it states their that you can renew for another 3 months. The fee for this is NZ$200/head.

Regarding on how soon should you leave, if you were given a 6 month visa, leave the country ASAP because your visa is running at the moment the courier arrives at your front door. But if it's a 9 month visa, I think, not that sure, it would run when you arrive in N.Z.

thanks ric for answering my questions...incidentally i got an interview notice already..timeframe would be, result will be within 2 months after the interview..if issued WTR visa, within 3 months one should arrive in NZ, and in NZ the visa will be valid for 9 months...subject to extension of 3 months...

Trina was also our visa officer. I find her to be very accommodating and she responded to our queries promptly. She even returns our calls.

We were no longer asked to go to Beijing for the interview. We had a phone interview with Trina, after about a month, we got our invitation to apply for a WTR visa. We just lodged our visa application last week.

You should prepare for the interview. Have all your supporting documents ready. Be confident. Keep in mind that it is the VO's task to weed out candidates who will become a liability in NZ, so you have to prove that you can find a job in NZ. One of the questions that will be asked of you during the interview is if you are willing to take on jobs that are not in line with your expertise or level of competency. You should be open to the possibility that you won't get the equivalent of your current job in NZ but it doesn't mean that it is the end of the road for you. Armed with skills, experience and a good attitude, I believe that you will eventually prove your worth.

Hope this helps and goodluck.
