I'm an experienced backpacker but know nothing of NZ. I fight wildfires in Alaska these days and don't get any time off in the summer, so I bought a ticket to Auckland and figured it will work out from there. But, as I've noticed, I may need reservations for some tramping trips and so I thought I'd look for some friends. I'll be in NZ mid january-mid march and be up for most anything.
