FYI.
my friend just arrived from NZ. sabi nya, NZ peeople daw does not hire pa naka "tourist" visa. 'yung iba nyang friends, when they arrive ther as tourists, Filipinos hire them nalang instead, (for the mean time/ to buy time while waiting for their visa to be converted).
as for him, he temporarily worked sa supermarket as a bagger,...hes an engineer here befor.

it's too risky. But if you are smart enough and you can prove to the employers that you are what they need and they couldn't find someone like you locally they will hire you. So you have to be exceptionally smart, particularly if your target areas are Wellington & Auckland. There are people who were lucky to get jobs in their fields within 1 month of their visit here. But there are also those who went home as they were not as luck. I think everything depends on timing: when employers need it.

One tip: The first thing you need to prove to employers if you get a chance to be interviewed is your fluency in the English language, you need to be an excellent communicator if you want the employers to choose you over 2-3 applicants who were chosen from a hundred.

If you are not a risk taker better start everything with the EOI. Join pinoyz2nz yahoo groups, there are heaps of people who can help you with the migration process.

Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to go into futher study once you are in New Zealand on a visitor visa. Does the universities accept and does immigration department accept to change your visitor visa to student visa if you apply in time before expiring visitor visa and have got admission in university and also sufficient funds to support your education and stay? Or do you find any difficulty is doing so if required? Any suggestions please.

Kumustaka!

There is one person I would strongly recommend who can help you. He is really nice. He goes out of the way to help Asians to settle in NZ. So far, more than twenty of my friends, 12 from Manila and 8 from Cebu managed to find jobs through him. He will advise you what to do to qualify for certain jobs. As for nurses, he managed to negotiate very good salary. Two of my cousins obtained jobs as NZRN with annual salary of NZD$42K per year through him. He guided them on how to go about obtaining the NZNC registration and procedures. His fees are quite worth paying. His name is Jackson: kc.law08@yahoo.com. His law firm specializes in immigration law.

No obligation and good luck!!!!

december to feb is a lean season in New Zealand for job hunting.

if you have the right skills, you can land a job just like my IT friend who secured a job after a month of coming to NZ.
