school holidays march/april

Hi there, Next year i want to go to NZ, for the period of one month. I want to avoid the crowded summer, so i probably go in March/April. But i'm afraid it will also be busy then, because of the spring school holidays and Easter. Could anyone please tell me when these holidays are? Is it really busy during these holidays, compared to the summer? Otherwise i might wait and go in October/November, is this a better time to go? Thanks! Eowin

Hi Eowin, I think March/April are the better months to travel here as the weather is usually more drier in those months. 2005 holidays Waitangi Day Sunday 6 February Good Friday 25 March Easter Monday 28 March Easter Tuesday 29 March Anzac Day Monday 25 April (occurs in school holidays) Queen's Birthday Monday 6 June Labour Day Monday 24 October 2005 School Terms (Secondary & Composite Schools) Term 1 Monday 31 January To Friday 15 April -- School Holidays Term 2 Monday 2 May To Friday 8 July -- School Holidays Term 3 Monday 25 July To Friday 23 September -- School Holidays Term 4 Monday 10 October To Friday 9 December -- School Holidays

iT can be very wet in October/November, if I were you I would stick to March/April, in a lot of the out of the way places, you would never know it was the school holidays or easter, there are so few people. The Hokianga where we live I feel is one of the best places in the North Island of New Zealand _________________ heather from beautiful hokianga

Thanks a lot for your advices! Some things came up so i can't leave in march, now i will go in october anyway. You helped me out with the hollidays though. Quess i just have to deal with the weather but i still can't wait to go!
