HI I am going to Nz in 2 weeks awith my 2 kids 22 and 13 Im not sure what the best option is to rent a 4 berth van heating etc and drive round with the added expenses of camping parks petrol or car and hostels and b&b's .
not sure of what the prices are for b&b's etc and a friend said that some of the roads are so curvy and narrow and didn't think that a van would be suitable such as the forgotten highway i think it was ??
Any info would be greatly appreciated cheers ashlee |

| Personally I would rent a car and stay in cabins at camping grounds. They are about NZ$70 a night for 3, sometimes more, sometimes less. |

| I have seen vans lugging around steep and winding hi-ways and they're doing okay. With campervans, you don't need to stay in B&B. Just park your van in Holiday Parks for $15-$50 a night and they connect your van to a powerpoint, and you can use their communal toilets and bathrooms and other facilities. |

I had a friend who came to NZ and met up with relatives from Singapore who also flew down to Akl on the same day as her.
the campervan they rented has 5 bunk beds, has fridge, cooking utensils, stove, and a lot of storage. They drove from Auckland to Christchurch, camping at Holiday Parks, and stopping at beautiful places ---- for one week! They loved the experience so much they're gonna do it again this coming summer. |
