visit the New Zealand Immigration site first at www.immigration.govt.nz and from there, you can find heaps of information that you need for applying for permanent residence. All the articles are straightforward and you can even prepare your application by yourself.

Hi. Regarding IELTS in manila, it is the British Council that administers the test. Better yet, to fully prepare yourself for the exam, spare a little sum for a review also with them.
Below is the address:

British Council Philippines

10 F Taipan Place Emerald Ave
Ortigas Centre, Pasig City
1605 Philippines

Telephone: +63 (2) 914 1011 to 14
Fax: +63 (2) 914 1020
Email: britishcouncil@britishcouncil.org.ph

http://www.britishcouncil.org/philippines-learning-exams-ielts.htm

Take a look at this site for more info on the IELTS.

Good luck! Madali lang naman... just be focused!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE

Many thanks to JAP & K!

I already submitted the rest of the documents ACS was asking and my application is now "In Process". Most of them are letters from my previous superiors and noted by HR Managers.

JAP, based on your experience, how long have you waited the result of ACS assessment? (ACS ka rin ba?) coz based on their website processing will take up 10 weeks.
Did you also took the IELTS test? how was it? Im a little hesitant taking the test coz im not really comfortable using english language. Any advise or suggestions? Do you know any agency here in manila that can help me improve my english language ability.

Klarise, it seems you already had your english language tested and passed, what preparations did you do, what band level have you got?

Happy Holiday to all...

Regards,
Alvin

Hi Alvin. Yes, i finished my IELTS as early as last year coz i used it for my canada application. I took the one day review also from the Bristish Council. Overall, i got 6.5 band... there are 4 categories (speaking, reading, listening and writing), all time bounded.

Good luck

Just want to post some info,

You can apply for IELTS either on British Council Located at the Taipan
Tower in Ortigas Center or at the IDP located at Pioneer House, Paseo cor.
Legaspi , Legaspi Vill Makati.

When you apply for IELTS at British Council your speaking test will be
given by the British Council interviewers, same as if you apply at IDP,
IDP interviewers will conduct your speaking test.

From what I know, IDP interviewers are more considerate and accomodating, but do not take this from me, this is only what I know
from past experience, by talking to my friends who also took the IELTS.
Ask some people who already took the exam, as for me I applied in
British Council and got a 7.0 band.
I am not promoting or anything the IDP, no , I only want to post some
useful info, to people who have the same goals as mine.

To Alvin,
You can go to Cervantes Review Center for IELTS review,
British Council also offer seminars as well as IDP,
For me I took a 1day seminar at UP Diliman .

Regards,
Mo

Hi All!

Here's my experience. I haven't been to NZ yet but I'm interested. I applied online. There were a couple of responses from employers but they'd like me to be in NZ so they can interview me. But alas, I'm not. So I asked if they could possibly do a phone interview and they did not want this. Persistent as I am, I emailed the employer about my chances of getting work in their company if I went there for an interview, they said I have a good chance of getting the job. Sayang, I'm not that rich Mad

But my point is, we have a good chance of getting jobs there. Its just a matter of assertiveness on our part. Especially right now na me internet na. You can do your job search online.

Don't lose hope. Good luck to everyone.

Thanks to Mo and Klarise! Idea

And of course to all who shared their valuable insights.

I prefer to take an exam in IDP coz its more closer to my place -i work and live in Makati.
Did you guys sought assistance from migration agent for your application? if so, how much did they charged you? Is it really a good idea to seek assistance from an agent? the last time i inquire from an agent, they are asking PHP 60,000.00 (60K) professional fee. I think its fair enough compare to other agent who usually asking more than 100K. What do you think guys?

To Alvin,

In my case I ask for the services of an agent.
they charged me , 55K total, but this is in staggered
payment, I think (again my opinion only!) this is better
because, as for me , I do not know many technical things
in the application process, and this amount is less than
one month salary, ones you arrive there.

Wink Mo, again, thank you very much, now i have clear idea of what to next.

If you dont mind, may i also know your agent and its address w/ contact number...you can send it to alvin_serwelas@yahoo.com if in case you prefer not to disclose it here. And what type of visa did you got, work visa (employer sponsored) or permanent resident? are you in Australia or NZ? As for me i want to concentrate with my application to Australia coz most of my relative lives there and they are willing to sponsor my application, then at least things won't bother me much when i bring my family w/ me. But if things didnt turn out right (na wag naman sana), i might also try to NZ.
