TO ANSWER SOME QUERIES....
Missme, you mentioned that BKK office is loaded but if one would take a look at the pie chart in the Fact sheet report of NZIS you would observe a constant high percentage of selected EOIs at Grt Brit alone(triple ng sa Phils.) include mo pa Germany and other EU countries lodging their applications at London...and yet processing of papers here is much faster ...could it be that they have more staff at London office ?..
In terms of size, ang London office maraming staff. The system as expected in Euro is really splendid. In fact, if you file for a working visa, you can even wait that day, if not, you are given 5-7 days.
My EOI verification is in London, and even before they issued by ITA, I was already in contact with my Case Officer. Pero, sa dami din nga ng taong for PR there, marami din ang nag re-reklamo. I think I saw one Filipina who is in Germany, who was complaining, Maria ata ang pangalan.
Since from Germany, lumipat ako (I was on a holiday-business trip to get clients in Europe) to NZ, I asked them to transfer my ITA to Henderson Branch (NZ), Ganoon din. MAbilis at efficient.
Ito lang ang advise ko, lets not compare kung mabilis o mabagal ang issuance ng ITA o verification kase iba-iba. Like yung client ko nga pong nag lodge ng EOI Jan 15, napili Jan 19 o 21 (pasensya na di ko alam exact date, tamad ng humalukay ng files...shehehe) ang tagal ng verification niya. then she has 150pts, the case officer called me that according to her 90points lang siya, so sabi ko how could it be?
So ayun, i sent letter super explain, we got the points we wanted.
I have dealt with NZIS branches Manila, Wellington, Auckland, Henderson, Berlin, London, Pteroria, Bangkok.......ang pinaka-mabagal po, in fairness, Bangkok.
Sa Pinas naman I hate the way Visa Officer treats those who are getting their Visa. Although luckily, I havent experienced na bastusin ng VO, I have people who have (complained) told me how they treat clients, nakakainis po talaga.
LETS ALL BE PATIENT. AT ULI, HILA PATAAS AT DI PABABA.
lets be happy dun sa mauuna dito para may ka-bbque na ako, hehehe.
si Flor (backpack forum member din) nga pala KAKASAL NA SA 30TH--- FLOR, SHY KA KASE EH NA I-ANNOUNCE. I will be in her wedding. Then, we will host her friends from Philippines (mga 7 Pinoys) sa aming munting bahay.
CONGRATULATIONS TO FLOR & DAVID! _________________ NZ Immigration Help Service Limited

| Missme, salamat for sharing informations like that .... maitanong ko lamang, may pagkakaiba ba ang Case officer sa Visa Officer?... also, maaari ba na ang isang applicant magmula dito sa Pilipinas ay magfile ng kanyang application addressed sa Henderson office?.... |

Went over Ka Uro’s blog (http://a-pinoy-in-nz.blogspot.com) and I can't help but shed a tear on the tale his odyssey to New Zealand. Not only does it show us the challenges of migration, but is also a candid rendering of their trials and tribulations as an individual and as a family in a strange land. It’s not only very informative reference for prospective migrants, but is one bad piece of blog literature. Ka Uro, you have a gift, please keep it up. For all its worth, I really enjoy your chronicles and you must keep this up! I am making a mental note that if I do get to New Zealand, I’ll have to buy you a drink! Another is recommended site is is Kiwipinay’s blog (http://pondahan.pansitan.net). It’s so honest that it’s almost surreal. Get well soon and do keep it coming! I’ll buy you a drink as well!!

Hi Again !
My EOI was selected 08 Dec.04, I received my ITA 23 Dec.04, filed my application at Bangkok 29 March 05, got my passport back 07 April 05, I received the first correspondence from my VO-Beijing Br. last 18 April asking additional documents.
I lived and worked lawfully in Australia under Temporary Resident for about 2 years although I am a Business Economics Graduate my work
experience in Regional South Australia is in the field of Sheetmetal manufacturing after undergoing three months training in the company that hired me . Prior to my stay in Australia I worked for about ten years in a Bank.
I have a few queries I hope somebody out there would reply. Thanks in advance.
do I need to undergo such interview or all PR applicants really have to go under such ?
Do you need a visa to travel to Bangkok in case for an interview ?
altogether, how much budget do I need going to bangkok in case I will be undergoing an interview ? (the minimum days needed to stay for the interview, I dont want to stay longer and not interested in touring activities either)
to JPE,
Thanks for your pm.
to MissMe,
I sent your office an e-mail but until now haven't got any reply.
to Snooze,
Thanks for the reply I hope to read more of your messages at this forum.
Goodluck to all of us !!! |

Actually it's good para sa atin na pangalawa na ang Pinas sa binibigyan ng ITA. I think noon, it was China and India ang pinakamarami. Kaso NZIS changed the rules to exclude work experience in countries that they deem as not "comparable labour markets". So na-exclude ang marami including India and China. In a way, reaction ito sa mga nangyayari na PhD migrants na nag-da-drive ng taxi pagdating dito sa NZ. Good for us they considered the Philippines as comparable labour market sa NZ so that's why most of us meet the 100 point mark.
Anyway, reason why pinakamaraming Brits or pommies (kung tawagin sila dito) could be na marami sa kanila andito na sa NZ. Kasi free naman sila to come here and even work here (to some extent). So pagtinotal mo yung galing sa overseas plus iyong fi-nile dito, I won't be surprised kung pinakamarami nga sila. |

Allan, my answers to your question...
| Quote: | | do I need to undergo such interview or all PR applicants really have to go under such ? |
I think you really have to go through the interview process
| Quote: | | Do you need a visa to travel to Bangkok in case for an interview ? |
No, you will be given a 30-day ASEAN visa upon entry...
| Quote: | | altogether, how much budget do I need going to bangkok in case I will be undergoing an interview ? (the minimum days needed to stay for the interview, I dont want to stay longer and not interested in touring activities either) |
Get a package with local travel agents, mga $200-400 depending on the demand. They come with the works (e.g. airport transfers, breakfast, etc.). Kailangan mo lang ay yung for your meals, averaging Bht 30 - 60, more if you are picky. Kung may bisyo ka, mas mahal (he..he..he.. after all, Bangkok is the pleasure capital of Asia! A cornucopia for the senses! But that is for a different thread!!!). To play it safe, arrive there at least the night before your interview and leave the day after (baka kasi sa hapon ang schedule mo). Pero anodoon ka na eh... See the sights and do the deeds! Ingat lang...
BTW, you ought to at least try their food... Phad Thai (fried noodles), Tom Yom Ghoong (tom yum soup), Cekrong Moo Long Song (pork ribs in peanut sauce), Som Tam (spicy shredded mango salad), Yam Pla Duk Foo (deep fried shredded catfish salad), etc. and for dessert, get a Khao Neeo Mamuang (sweet sticky rice with mango). Remember, if you can't take spicy food, just say "pet noi, kin phet mai dai" (not spicy, I can't take spicy food). But hey, you only get to live once, so try the nuclear-strength spicy food! Aw... man... I'm getting really hungry!
Hope this is useful... Lan goon, laew phob gan mai (good bye, hope to see you soon)

Allan, you’re welcome… Yes, I know a bit of the language as I lived there for quite sometime… Thai na nga ako kung mangarap!!! Can get by with conversations, but I’m hopeless in reading…
Anyone have any questions about Thailand and Bangkok, fire away and I’ll try to expedite the answers to your queries….
