Hi to all,

Good day to all of you. I've come across this forum while searching about immigration to new zealand.

Like most of the guys I'm also looking for any information on how to migrate to australia or new zealand (migration to Canada is not applicable to me since they require a minimum amount for "settlement funds").

I'm an IT guy (I forgot I'm from the Philippines) currently working here in Saudi Arabia. Unfortunately I'm not a graduate of any computer degree although I have a bachelor degree. The only IT certificate I've got is from Microsoft. My school is not even listed in New Zealand recognized institutions. How's my chances. Can anyone give me some advice.

To Jap,

Quoting from your previous post:

"By the way, if you decided to go as a skilled migrant, you do not need to get an immigration consultant, every application form is free – download it from the website. "

May I ask where is that site and it is really free?

Hello Kababayans!

It's great to come across this message board 'coz I also wanted to work & live in NZ.

To our Kababayans who are already working & living in NZ, please share with us some more tips to qualify to work & live in NZ. I'm a radio communication specialist working here in Saudi Arabia for the past 10 years. Is there any demand for this type of profession in NZ?

Regards to all!

Hi to all,

Just want to post some info,

I am an engineer who would also like to migrate in NZ
with my family.

I know that, if you would want to know if you can work
in NZ as your degree, you will first apply for an NZQA evaluation,
this would be done in NZ, you will submit all your original
certificates, diplomats and others, IELTS would help also if you
have it.
NZQI will evaluate all your credentials then they will give you
a what they call a NZQA level , if you are a BS degree holder
most probably you will get a level6,

I have already done this and I got a NZQA level6
-meaning I can work as an engineer there.
this NZQA will help you in applying for a job there in NZ.
this can also help you in applying for a job online, you can
send them your NZQA evaluation number, then they can check this
in NZ.

next you can apply for an expression of interest.
then for a permanent residency.

Hope I have given you some useful info.

Regards,
M

Hello M,

Are there any charges for the NZQA evaluation? How long does it takes to complete their evaluation?

hi everyone,

Good day!

Im really glad to find such stuff like these over the internet.

JAP or to anyone, can you pls advise me or share some insight with my case.

I am an IT guy who presently working here in pinas. I have a relative in Sydney who is willing to sponsor our family migration (im a family man btw). I consider first applying for "Australian Sponsored-Skilled Migration Program." I already sent my documents to ACS (Australian Computer Society) for skill migration assessment. Unfortunately an assessor who handled my case was asking me a revised copy of my employer references that covers job description and whatsoever because according to him the copy of my employer references were not acceptable. He gave me 49 days to complete these requirements. I actually tried to collate such kind of documents from my previous employer before but they refuse to because according to them they are providing only certificate with standard format (no job description etc.)

As an alternative, is it advisable to secure a letter from my previous superiors stating my job description and everything instead of acquiring revised copy of employment references.

Pls advise me or just send your comment to alvin_serwelas@yahoo.com

thank you very much and God bless,

Alvin

Hi Malou,

To answer your questions,

I dont know how NZQI evaluate your credentials, or if there is
any changes on how they do this.
you have to submit all your original documents including your trainings
and all your centificates and diplomas.
After that they will verify this to your school, and your school will
give to NZQI thier verification.
then NZQI will give you their rating.
All of this depends on how long your school can give their verification
to NZQI, as I know this takes an average of around 3months to complete.
But for me, I'ved waited 6 months for this, I'ved emailed my evaluator
and he said, my school did not gave any verification, so I went to my school registrar and ask why, after 2days they mailed my verification to NZQI , and after a month I received my NZQA,
There are schools here in the do not need any NZQA.

Hope I'ved answered your question.

Hi Malou,

As for the charges, yes there is, NZD 465 , you will buy a bank draft
addressed to NZQI, I'ved done this in ANZ Bank, (Australian-NewZealand Bank), at Ayala, Makati.
