hi, i just want to know if i (im a single mom) have a chance on migrating to nz with my almost 3 year old child. I have a degree in marketing but i haven't got the chance to work in the same field since i already have a small business, a computer shop to be specific. I have a cousin who's in nz for 2 years now with her husband and a toddler and a baby and she hasn't been working ever since she got there bec of the newborn baby.. anyway, does anyone think i have a chance on being granted a visa? i wouldn't want to leave my baby in the ph so i'd really like to bring him with me to nz..

Hi Everyone.

I’m kinda new here and am weighing my options for a migration either in AU or NZ in the next few years (or possibly this year). I am a CPA with an MBA degree, working for an oil company here in the PI for four years now. I am 25 y.o. My experience would mostly be under the General Accounting field.

I know this has been asked so many times. What I prolly need is an inspiration from someone who has done all these things before and would still be optimistic about a bright future for a CPA and MBA degree holder despite the tough economic times. So my question I guess goes to “boldon” and to those who have similar experiences as him/her. Boldon, I presume you came from one of the Big 4 audit firms here in the PI but would you know what chances rest to those who did not take the auditing route? I would like to know. Anytime soon I’ll be sending my EOI and I just want to check whether there’s as much demand for accounting jobs in NZ as AU or SG. Can you also give me an advice as to how you were able to find your current employer now who sponsored you a VISA? Links perhaps?

Any inputs will be most appreciated.

Hi! I just wanted to ask what's going to be the best way to migrate to NZ if you're a CPA in the Philippines with 3 years experience.

Salamat at mabuhay ang lahing Pinoy!

Don't want to discourage you here, but the CPA profession one of the profession that has least chances of getting job in NZ. Anyway, just seek a immigration consultant. They might have way to get you to your dream county.

Snapper - i think it would depend on what type of experience Konan has. Accountants would not be in the list of long term skills shortage if employers are not constantly hiring. case in point also, i recently moved to NZ. I sent out my cv in mid october when i was still abroad and within a month i got a job offer so now i'm here.

Konan - i think chances are better if you have Big 4 experience.

good luck!

NZ immigration came out with recognized qualification from certain Phl university , other university like UP and Ateneo , from any year, meaning they would recognized your qualification whatever year you graduated. How about the other university, like PLM, they only rcognized if you graduated back in 1992. Will NZ Immigration still recognized my degree if I graduated 1983?

NZQA will still recognize your qualification, however, it will be 1 level lower than current recognition. My husband has the same case, his school was recognized a year after he graduated. Hope this helps.Smile

Hello to all, i already scanned some pages here but i have few questions below regading immigration:

1. Are employers in NZ are now hiring imigrants because i also read in another blog (entry last year) that employers are avoiding and are not aware of Skilled Migrants.

2. I am trying to access the online OEI http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/work/skilledmigrant/LinkAdministration/FormsAndGuidesLinks/onlineeoiform.htm?level=1 but its not displaying the form to start the application. Is this still working or applications now need to go on paper? (additional processing cost)

Please shed light on these inquiries for i am just beginning to read immigration details in NZ.

Hi majikero..

I think it's working. Have you registered your username and password? That's the first thing to do for the eoi online submission.

Hi Majickero!

Honestly I don't believe that NZ employers directly hire potential immigrants unless they go through an agency that will help them assess the qualifications of the person.

If you try going to seek.co.nz, most employers require that online applicants should have the right to live and work in New Zealand.

If you visit www.pinoykiwi.com you will find helpful links and information about your possible pathways to New Zealand. It's a new and growing community so don't hesitate to ask questions.
