If you don't want to visit www.immigration.govt.nz , could you at least read the threads here before asking?

naaalala ko tuloy si pipoy noong bata pa ako. sa campus sya yung lagi nasa unahan ng linya sa mga rally. pero last time ko na-hearing (looong time ago) eh malapit na ata maging deacon or pari sa pinas. not sure though.

hymn na ganito na ata ngayon....U _ naming mahal.... na daw Sad

Yes, sadly. We are not the darlings of the establishment so they withdrew budget for the Iskolars - Board of Regents had no choice but to raise tuition of the three largest Chapters - Dil, Manila, and LB. So a full sem now costs aroung 18k php.

buti pala nakabot tayo ng stfap! at stipend! Wink

biktima po ako nito. tsktsk. umaabot pa ng 24k pag engg student. buti na lang di engg course ko.lol. kaya asa nz na ko ngayon. Smile)

pero sa totoo lang, if i had it my way, lahat ng graduate ng UP system eh ire-require ko na magtrabaho muna for a couple of years sa pinas or sa govt after they finish. para mapakinabangan naman ni juan dela cruz ang pinangbayad sa tuition ng mga iskolar ng bayan.... wala na magre-react, opinion ko lang naman yan. All the more reason to finish early, hehehe.

But seriously, if that is implemented then the tuition fee should be reverted back to the original rates.

sana nga ganun. require the iskolars ng bayan to work for govt after graduation, kahit siguro 2-5years lang. than they can apply abroad na , if they like.

pero ibalik ang subsidy, stfap at stipends. hey, maybe someone can tell that to the senators, para meron naman sila gawin instead na pa-pogi at pa-ganda lang sa media Very Happy

AND, deny POEA exit permits to those who haven't paid their student loans. So many UP students (and students from other state universities) have shamefully abandoned their obligations to pay some student loans when they left the country for good.

G'day fellow filipinos,

I'm a 23 year old Aucklander of Filipino ethnicity. I see that you are all discussing the possibilities of finding a job here in New Zealand.

Personally, I think that given the current economic situation, it is generally hard to find a job, even for citizens such as myself. I am a fresh graduate from the University of Auckland, yet it is hard for me to find jobs that are related to my field (pharmaceutical and medical research). A great big bunch of fresh graduates, (which includes myself and a lot of my mates) from the departments of commerce, engineering, science, and law are all finding themselves in the same sh*thole of a situation, pardon my language.

The news says that New Zealand is "officially" out of the recession, yet the ugly truth is that we've only moved up a measly 0.1%. I don't think this economy will get any better for the next year or so, which is why most of us graduates opted for further education (such as honours, masters, and doctorate degrees).

Furthermore, as soon as the economy gets better, the market will be flooded with a surge of postgraduate degree holders who have all been wishing for a brighter day since late 2008. A great many of these highly qualified graduates will be from the most esteemed universities in New Zealand, such as Auckland, Victoria, Canterbury, and Otago. Competition will be fierce, and given the unfortunate size of our economy, I don't think it'll be easy to find any professional jobs relating to the fields I have mentioned above.

That's my 2 cents, I welcome any comments regarding this post.

However, I do hope that God blesses you all by allowing you and your family to move here. New Zealand has been very kind to me, my parents, and my sister. It has proven itself a land of opportunity, which my parents will always attest to. I wouldn't choose to grow up anywhere else, and if any of you have children, I think that New Zealand is one of the best places to raise them. I wish you all the best of luck Smile

Cheers...

P.S. For those of you seeking to find a job in New Zealand without actually being here, visit www.seek.co.nz. It may be unlikely that you would get an offer, given the reasons I have mentioned...however, it is worth a shot. Give it a go anyway!

hahaha my bad. you're right, that includes Massey (Palmy and North Shore) and AUT. Sorry mate, I was only giving out examples. i accidentally forgot about massey! you can add more to the "esteemed" list if you want, but i would be slightly surprised if you said waikato or manukau lol.

i hope "dong" isn't a swear word... it does mean penis too haha

pasensya na, pare Razz
