The Bloodsucking Clinic in Makati!!!!!!!!! Go for St. Lukes and you will not suffer the way we are still doing! The Clinic's name starts with P____
- Insisted that my wife should take the lipid profile test because her waistline was 1 cm. over the standard measurement. Their fee was exorbitant. We were charged P2000.+ for this, when other labs would only charge u P 300.00 for this, i know bcoz i did this again the next day with another lab.
- Forced me to undergo a complete gastro workup because of the slight elevation of my SGPT and SGOT despite my explanation that I consume alcoholic drinks in moderation. The whole procedure cost me about Php 4,000 and even if the results of the ultrasound came out normal they still insisted that I see a doctor, which they referred thus adding more to my mounting expenses.
- They diagnosed me as PTB type 3 patient with an undetermined activity and forced me to see a pulmonologist, which they again referred. The first visit cost me Php 890 which consisted of the doctor’s fee and his report. I was forced to take some medicines to treat my alleged TB otherwise my application will not be processed. Despite the medicines grave side effects on me most notably, of which were acute gout and multiple mouth sores I took them because I was left with no choice.
- Upon my V.O.’s advise last September, I went to see my pulmonologist again to ask for an update on my medication. The chest X ray was done in P__ clinic and again they charged me an unreasonable amount of Php1, 780, which was ridiculous, and way over other doctors’ fees. They said that the price included the x ray and their report, which I’m beginning to think, is like a gold.
- Together with the update on my medication my V.O. also advised me to let my son have an X ray and PTB skin test and seek a pediatric pulmonologist. Again the X ray and skin test were done in P___ and this time I really felt that they were like daytime vampires out there sucking their victims dry. They charged me Php3, 080 for the X ray, skin test and again their invaluable report, to which I felt was their way of milking all the applicants until they could no longer afford even to buy a plane ticket to New Zealand. Talk about opportunists.
- The chest X ray of my son was clear and his skin test was negative for PTB and I was already expecting to be given a clearance by the pulmonologist that they referred. Or so I thought, because not only was the doctor’s fee very expensive at Php 1,500 (this is the rate daw because of the report and that we were ref by Peralta, normally his fee is only P 700.00) but he recommended that my son be treated for his alleged exposure to me for two months and that another skin test be done once he completes his medication. This was really outrageous because I already told the doctor that I never had any symptoms of TB and that my sputum test cultured for 8 weeks was negative for any infection thereby supposedly clearing me as well as my son of any TB exposure. But these people love to play god what with all the powers they have in their hands in making or breaking an applicant by imposing on us, their hapless victims, unnecessary tests and medical procedures just so they can enrich themselves and fatten their wallets. My point here is very simple because wouldn’t it be more prudent to just start my son on medication rather than have him go through a very expensive medical procedure the result of which would not bear much weight anyway because the doctor was already decided to treat him for his alleged exposure to me thus cementing more my suspicion that this P____ and the doctors that they recommend are in cahoots in preying on their hapless victims. If their basis of treating a patient is on the result of a clinical test then why would they insist on starting the medication even if a negative result is obtained and what roles do these tests play on our application if they would and could be overruled by a doctor?
- According to P___, the second skin test on my son will be around Pup 2,400 because this will not include a chest X ray anymore to which I almost gagged but instinctively did not so as not to offend the gods of our Medical Assessor.

Kaya guys, don't be fooled with their cheaper initial payment and that they are open Saturdays, which is exactly why we went to them.

Please, this is to warn everyone! We wouldn't be just out here to ruin or destroy them but we are here for our kababayans who are, like us, trying to seek for a better future in a beautiful country and they have to suck our funds dry!!!!

I understand what you are going to. I spent an additional 9,000 pesos (fees for additional exams) for elevated cholesterol and sgpt levels. Shocked

For those who are going to undergo medical examinations for their visa applications, I strongly suggest the following:

1. For men with waistlines above 32 inches and women with waistlines above 30 inches (standard BMI index of a healthy body ratio according to doctor), a month before your intended medical, go to an inexpensive clinic or laboratory and request for what they call a "full lipid profile."
It costs less than 1k but this could save you thousands of pesos later on since it will tell you if you have elevated levels of cholesterol and sgpt, and if you have elevated levels of both cholesterol and sgpt the accredited medical clinic will surely indicate (in your medical application form) that you have "abnormal levels" which would more likely indicate illness or sickness such as hepatitis b, cirrhosis, etc. Abnormal levels will surely make the accredited clinic refer you to a very expensive specialist before they give the "all clear" on your medical.

If your lipid profile has abnormal levels, at least you have one month to seek medical help and take medicines to lower cholesterol and sgpt levels. On the day of your intended medical exam, if the doctor sees you have an expanded waistline and order for a full lipid profile, at least during that second lipid profile, your cholesterol and sgpt levels will be (hopefully) low.

A diet and exercise regimen a few weeks before the medical is also strongly recommended. It doesn't hurt the system to lay off the rich food and booze for a while.

2. Waaaaay before your medical exams (maybe 3 to 6 months before), ask you doctor for that lab test which will show if you are positive for hepatitis a, b or c. At least you will know what to do when you are positive (take additional tests or ask for a specialist).

Also, take this opportunity to have hepatitis immunization shots and remember to take your adult vaccination chart with you during the medicals.

3. Female applicants should NOT go to the medical examination one week after your menstrual cycle. Your urine results will be unreliable since there is a possibility of traces of blood (from your recent menstruation).

4. Bring/drink plenty of mineral water since you will need to give a urine sample and clinics sometimes don't sell them so bring your own stash. Drink lots and lots of water weeks before the medical so your kidneys would produce urine as clear and as healthy as the water you drank hehehe.

5. Bring a photocopy of immunization records of underaged children who are also taking the medical exams. Very young children are exempted for medicals but some clinics request to see their immunization records for reference.

6. It also doesnt hurt to lay off the smokes before your x-ray.

When you get your visa:

7. Even if the immigration service does not require additional vaccinations, seize the opportunity to complete children and/or adult vaccinations in the philippines while you still can. I had shots for varicella (chickenpox), tetanus and the yearly flu shots to the tune of 3,500 pesos. Adults 50 years old and above MUST get yearly pneumonia shots, about 1k-1,500k a shot. Remember, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

8. People with glasses should consult an optometrist to see if their grades have changed. Buy a spare pair of glasses if you can.

9. Consult a dentist and get all the works done.

Hi,

I can definitely relate to this. My husband, a baby and I spent P55K in medicals alone before we finally got the "all clear" stamp from Peralta. We had to argue pa with the doctor at that time coz she was asking for more vaccinations and it would have amounted to a lot more than P55K! To those about to take their medicals pa lang, please go to St. Lukes. I heard it is a lot more professional there. I wish I had done that as well.

I have experienced the same thing with "PERALTA". They referred me to an old doctor in "MAKATI MEDICAL CENTER" because of a slight elevation in SGPT. And I spent an additional Php20,000 for that plus the anxiety and sleepless nights that it cause me while waiting for the result of the barrage of blood test, which includes the test for hepatitis C.

So if you are looking for a medical clinic, you should think twice before going to this clinic because they really are bloodsuckers.

dapat naibubunyag natin ang mga racket na ganyan. although too late for us dahil like you biktima rin kami.

kaya para na lang dun sa iba. mag ingat para di sila maging biktima.

etong peralta parang linta talaga..

kami warning para sa lahat. look for other clinic at huwag lang peralta.

Another mamemerang clinic is yung dun sa midland mansion in Makati. I will never go back there. Bukod sa sobrang tagal sa pag hintay during the actual medical exam, sobrang tagal din ng results, 10 working days!

My experience was I went there on March 2, 7.30am. There were about 12 people ahead of me sa pila and natapos ako about 1pm na. The good doctor told me to call on March 13 for my results but I was to go on a trip for 3 weeks. I was expecting na my results were ready na dahil more than 10 days na yung lumipas. But when I went to their clinic, tinanong ako kung tumawag daw ba ako. HUH?!? I mean, if you said 10 working days, it doesn't matter kung tatawag ka or hindi. They're supposed to be ready d b? She also told me that I had to repeat my X-Ray dahil nde daw clear. The radiologist cannot make an assessment and that's another 900Php. Sabi ko, I'll just have someone else read it just give me yung results. She told me to call after 2 days. I tried to but sobrang busy line nila after I was able to connect, sabi tawag ulit ako the next day! I mean, results na lng yun dapat pede na ibigay anytime. Why do they want to hold yung release nya d b?

Tapos when I finally got an appointment to pick my results, I asked yung sumagot ng phone if my results will be there at around 10am. She said yes. I went there on time pero again, hintay daw ako dahil pina-xerox pa. I asked again after waiting for an hour pero wala pa rin daw. I was really pissed off, I kept asking if ok na because at 12 noon, I have an appointment. The assistant went inside the doctor's office to check on my papers, when she came out she relayed to me what the doctor told her. Kung may appointment daw ako, alis lang daw ako at balikan ko na lng sa ibang araw! Grabe, sinasayang oras ko sa paghintay tapos ganon ang sasabihin. Kahit ngitngit na ako, I tried to stay bka dumating na and finally after 12noon dumating din. Tagal nung nagpa-xerox..hehe.

Hay naku, walang sistema, walang pakialam sa mga clients. Kaya if I were you, choose another clinic kung ayaw nyong sumakit ulo nyo.

Hi! Can I gave a name to your Anonymous Clinic? is it the BEST EVER, MOST POPULAR MAGAGANCHONG CLINIC......(drum roll please) PERALTA MEDICAL CLINIC???? I've always advised new comers not to go to that freaking clinic. Anyways, I did a little research because I wanted to kick them out of NZ Immigration. The owner of Peralta Medical is actually the director of Makati Med. So medyo malakas ang kapit niya. And they would refer you to a specialist at Makati Med. And get this, if the specialist happens to be an accredited health service company i.e Maxicare, they will still charge of a minimum of Php1,000.00 per visit, they'll also charge you on laboratory which is supposed to be free. Because, according to them they're not your patient. Anyways, I got so upset and told them of to my health care provider and they approved me. I think it's about time to get them off the list. They're too much!!! Magkakaroon ka nang sakit kahit wala naman.

As for Peralta, I was pissed off a bit dahil they couldn't make out daw sa X-Ray so I had to do it again. Good thing though is my company in NZ will bear all cost, nonetheless, it is not right. May isa silang finding sa isang test that I revalidated with our personal clinic and it seems na tama naman finding ng Peralta.

Do your best to get in shape and healthy before going for your med exam. Exercise, avoid fatty foods, water therapy can help you. Matter of fact, I was recommended by Peralta to undergo a full work-out (tama ba term) ko pero I opt not to go, in 2 weeks time I did a cleansing diet and bumalik ako for re-test and all went well. If you have money to spare, punta kayo sa clinic that can do all of the test at a cheaper price before going to Peralta.

Saka pina-prioritize nila ang may mga agency (from our observation). May kasabay kami na from Ilocos region pa, sinabi nilang may concern sa blood test nung hapon pa kung kailan pinaghintay nila ang tao.

Valid ang mga claims ko... I'm now here in NZ, I even took a picture of those Nurses who made our life difficult at St. Luke's... Sana magbago ang ibang Filipino na nagpapahirap sa kapwa nila.

You know those clinics that they mentioned on their posts? They are accredited by immigration. Grabe no?

A complete list of accredited clinics can be found on the www.immigration.govt.nz website.

I used Nationwide Clinic. Wala namang hassel ok naman ako sa service. Problem is the slightest abnormalities are really dealt with as if it is something serious and/or communicable. That is same with most immigration clinics in the philippines, i guess.

Has anyone tried the service of Abakkus Medical Diagnostic? They promised they can deliver medical result after 4 days only, is this true?

Comments/advise appreciated. Thanks
