Hi Guys, another quick question pls (though we have visited the IRD site, iba pa rin from 1st hand account). Once in NZ how do we go about applying for the IRD? ASAP right and the offices are nearby? Thanks a lot.

to apply for IRD, you can either download the form from their website http://ird.govt.nz and post it to them after filling up, or you can call them and ask for a form to be posted to you. NZ Traveller New Zealand Travel Resource

Hi. Who's supposed to apply for the IRD number for first-timers? Is it the employer or the employee himself? Thanks.

Hi. I believe you have to be the one to apply for the IRD. In our case somebody here mos ago advised us to apply via letter from the Phils then call up IRD once were in Nz so we can get the cards. But u know what, they sent via mail the IRD cards to us in the Phils! Holding it is like holding the visa. Hehehe feel like NZers na! We arrive in Nz this 15th Tues. Pls vsit the IRD site and download the application form. Write them and send all docs needed esp the passport with wtr visa. Best regards!

Hi. Thanks for the advise. Will probably just apply for the IRD number once I get to NZ. I am still in the process of completing the requirements for the visa application anyway. Thanks again for the info. onel

Hi. It's me again. How long did the whole process take from the moment you submitted your IRD number application to the time you received your IRD cards? I should be in NZ on the 28th but I don't have a WTR yet. I hope to submit my application next week and wish that it would be granted before the 28th. Would you suggest that I apply for the IRD number once I receive my WTR and just call them once I get to NZ so they won't mail it to my Philippine address? Thanks. onel
