Just want to know if I should get a NZQA now while waiting for my ITA or should I just wait for my VO to tell me to get one? I read in the Operations Manual that all postgraduate degrees need to be assessed by NZQA even if you got the degree from a recognized school. I'm inclined to wait it out muna dahil baka masayang ang money kung di i-require ng VO. On the other hand, it might delay the WTR process naman if I do it during that stage. Anybody out here who declared their postgraduate studies? Can you please share your experience regarding this? I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

all masters/phd degrees declared would have to undergo full-NZQA to get credited. if your undergrad course is also from a recognized school, and your GPA is between 1 to 2 (as required in the NZQA LRQ guidelines), and you dont mind the 5-point deduction, you may want to amend your educational qualifications (i.e., withdraw the declaration of your masters) when you submit your ITA.

Hi! My wife has an MA from UP Diliman. Although in our case, we didn't need it for our interview (Feb 3 2006), she did need it for her Teacher's Registration - a requirement in order to get a job along her professional line. It would be a good idea to process your NZQA as soon as you get your ITA. I heard that some applicants were required to present the NZQA during the interview.

tnx for the replies lito & jazzyjayt.

lito, may i ask if your wife was the principal applicant? If she was, did she declare it? My hubby is also a teacher, what's the first step in getting a Teacher's Registration? Thanks in advance for whatever info you can provide.

jazzjayt, our eoi was already selected (140) If we take back the MA, we will lose points and won't be automatically selected. BTW,both our college degrees were earned from recognized schools. Is it still possible to take it back while they are still verifying my EOI(before getting ITA)?

Hi Popski,

I dont think its necessary as you can get assessed when you eventually get there. In my case, I have an MBA from DLSU but i just computed my qualifications based on my undergrad degree as five points lang naman ang difference if you declare a Masters degree (dami pang hassle). However, I submitted all my MBA docs with my ITA. Sabihin mo na lang sa interview na you would do all the necessary requirement to have your master's degree accredited.
