Heard alot of people raving about Leki's and other hiking/tramping poles, and alot of sales pitches too...
Does anybody use them?
Are they really worth the money?
Cheers,

| I got some Leki' as a gift last year and personally I think they area waist of time, but yeah some people swear buy them. If you have dodgy knees I could see they would be handy going down hills. But they are aimed at gear junkies that need to have everything IMO.. just glamorised tree branches. |

yeah, my brother laughed at me when i mentioned them...
He thinks the best bit about hiking is finding a good walking stick on the way,
and using it to smash stuff 'till you find a better one
We don't take him out much... |

I always use a couple of hiking poles, but no need to buy expensive Leki's when you can pick up a cheap pair that will do the same thing. If you're carrying a heavy pack then poles help a lot, helping you to power up hills and taking strain off the knees if you use them properly.
I say give them a try and see what you think. You never know, - they might keep those knees going for a few extra years! |
