|
|
Hello,
i have the understanding that crossing any maori land
requires permission as a cultural courtesy...
i'm wondering how you know when you are crossing such land
if you're walking off roads and not going by a particular plan
i plan to spend a lot of my time over there just wandering down beaches
and through national parks etc. and understandably don't want to offend...
anyone had experience dealing with this???
Cheers,
Trussell |

| The National Parks are owned by the crown so anyone can walk where they please the same with the foreshore ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand_foreshore_and_seabed_controversy ). But yeah if you see a sign ask permission, the vast majority of Maori will have no problems with you passing through. The same with farmers, just ask. |
